(A/N) wait an actual story? That's right bitches here's a sad love story

Hidden love. The type of love where the other person never leaves your mind, without them knowing it. The type of love where you keep longing for something that might never be. David knew a lot about hidden love. He knew the longing for another. He knew the feeling of them never leaving his mind. He knew what it was like to dream of them. He knew how to keep that love to himself. He'd been experiencing hidden love for many years, without telling anyone about it.

Until, people started noticing. They started noticing the longing look in his eyes. They started noticing the tender touches, the tiny kisses. They started noticing the fond he had for another. More specifically, his best friend. David had experienced many years of hidden love for his best friend. Until finally, that love got reciprocated. It started small, like any kind of young love. The lingering hands, the hugs that are a bit too long to be friendly, the soft whispers. But their love grew bigger, gradually. The hugs turned into kisses on the cheek, forehead, nose. The lingering hands turned into holding hands. The whispers turned into spoken expressions of love. Their actions got easier to recognise, the lingering eye contact said enough for the both of them. Their young love got bigger, aged and became impossible to miss. Their other friends hated how perfect these two boys were for each other. Anyone that believed in soulmates could see that that's exactly what they are. Both boys became more confident in their love and didn't shy away from giving the other affection. The small kisses turned into make out sessions, the holding hands turned into wandering hands and the expressions of love turned into daily I love you's.

Bryan had a lot more trouble adjusting to their growing love. Especially since his love for David was really fresh. And the fact that he had a girlfriend definitely didn't help. But with the help of his young love, he got through it. There are still days where Bryan wonders what would have happened if he didn't break up with his girlfriend. Would he and David still be friends? Or would the growing feelings have come in the way of their friendship? What if they had lost contact? Thankfully for both boys, none of those things happened. Their love seemed eternal.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. So did their love. They weren't just good. They were great. They were the greatest love around. And then they weren't. People fall in and out of love all the time. And so did the boys. No one knows why they gradually stopped their affection towards each other. No one knows why they stopped saying I love you. No one knows why they stopped going on dates, stopped talking to each other. No one knows why the boys fell out of love. But they did. And now, almost 5 years later, both boys still think of each other, their heads swarmed with 'what if's. Their love was great, but people change. Their love changed. But they will always be a part of each other. The experiences they had don't change. The memories they made won't fade. Because no one truly forgets their first hidden love.
