Nothing Like Starting Over

Hunters POV
I was on my home from the studio, heading to see my long term girlfriend. I planned to stay later, but we finished early, so I could surprise Haley. I jogged to the door, opening it. "Babe! I'm home!" I yelled throughout the house. I made my way to the kitchen, as I saw what I thought was never possible. Haley was standing there, lips locked in a full make out session with a stranger. I dropped my bags, creating a loud clank. She struggled to turn around, eyes widening and mouth dropped as she saw me. "H-alley?" My voice cracked with disbelief. "Hu- uh Hunter? Your not supposed to be home." She said simply. I felt tears spill over my eyes. "Who the hell is he?" The stranger asked, angry. "Me?! I'm her boyfriend." I growled, trying not to break down. "Ha, nice try bud, but you can lave now." He clenched his fists as a warning. Haley just stood there quietly. "I said get out. Or we'll have to take this further." He stepped closer. "She's not worth fighting for." I choked out. No, stay strong Hun'er. Ugh! I can't believe she cheated on me! We had such a great relationship! I was going to propose! Dammit! "I'm going to get my stuff." I turned my back. "Hun'er, wait-" she tried to fit in a word. "No. You made your decision. Live with it." I barked back. I stormed up the stairs, throwing most of my stuff in bags. As I threw my bags in the car, I sat in the drivers seat, my head against the wheel, completely breaking down. As maybe an hour past I finally gathered the strength to drive. I didn't know where, but all I knew was to drive.

I headed somewhere, who knows where I'm headed, and when I'll be back.

Soon I came across a small little town, it was a historical cute little town. I drove around the town, examining all the shops and different places, until a certain store caught my eye. Amongst the square signs that hung, advertising the shops, was an electric guitar. I quickly found a parking space I front of it. This is exactly what I need.

Scarletts POV

"That's cause I'm the rainin' queen on karaoke night!" I sang to the radio that played 'You Ain't Dolly' in the cramped music stored I practically managed. I walked over to my phone that was plugged into the auxiliary, skipping it. 'Storm Warning' by Hunter Hayes. "She rolled in from the west in a summer sun dress hotter than the heat in July!" I sang while fixing a broken guitar string, playing along when I fixed it. "She's a beautiful mess, the kind ya love to love, but what happens next-" a strangers voice rang through out the guitar filled store. "Wha-?!" I turned around to face the stranger. "Hey! Sorry to intrude on you like that." He spoke. Oh my god. Hunter Hayes is in my shop! Holy crap! "Uh- oh- I'm Scarlett... That's fine- ugh. Sorry Mr. Hayes, I just, really adore your music." I said awkwardly, moving my hair out of my eyes and looking down. He chuckled warmly, "Call me Hun'er. Do you work here?" "Uh yeah, that's me." My southern accent coming out a bit to strong. "What a beautiful place you got here!" He laughed, his sharp blue eyes darting around the shop. "Yeah. It really is... Oh, do you need any help with anything?" I asked. "Um yeah, I was wondering if you could show me the best place to get coffee? Tomorrow?" He asked, hope and desperation shining through both his eyes and voice. I hesitated for a moment. Did Hunter Hayes just ask me out? Holy- "I'd love to!" "Great! And, could I, uh, get your number?"

Hunters POV

It's like, all my worries of my life before this little road trip was gone. I completely started over, made a new life, aside from my music career, but still. Scarlett loved music, and seemed perfect in my eyes, so spontaneously I asked her out. Oh god, hopefully she likes me, or did I make it awkward?! Crap!

I guess we'll just have to see.
