I woke up with arms around me and I didn't know where I was. Bolting up, I nervously turned to face the person, only to see it was Axel.
He was up and smiling at me. I couldn't help but smile back and lay down again. There was just this feeling I got when I was with him. It just felt so....right.
"Well good morning, Sleeping Beauty." He said in a sleepy voice.
"Well good morning to you too." I said with a small giggle.
"How did you sleep?" He asked as he pulled me closer to him. I snuggled up next to him and smiled.
"Wonderful. The best sleep I've ever had."
He laughed and it shook the both of us. It was infectious and you couldn't help but laugh with him.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"About noon."
I sat up quickly. Never have I slept that late.
"Relax. It's not like someone is going to get mad because you're not home. You're not in high school. You're 24 years old-"
"I'm 23. Don't make me old." I said.
"Oh my bad. I didn't mean to offend you." He said sarcastically. "But my point still stands."
As if some cosmic joke was being played on me, my phone rang. I looked at the ID: Christopher. Ut oh.
"Hello?" I said into the receiver.
"Where are you?" He asked in a cold voice.
I instantly stiffened. He sounded so mad and hostile. Axel's hand went to my back and started rubbing it. It was calming me down.
"Who is it?" He whispered.
"Chris." I said to Axel, before talking into the phone again. "What do you mean, Chris? I'm at home." I lied.
"Obviously you're not because i'm knocking right now. And don't tell me you're at Chelsy's, because I already called her and she said you were at home. So I repeat. Where. Are. You?"
"I'm at a friend's house, but I need to go. I'll see you at my house at seven." I said and hung up. Tonight was not going to be fun.
"I don't like him anymore." I said.
"And you're going out with him tonight because..."
"I'm afraid." I said honestly.
"I won't let him hurt you." Axel said as he snuggled his head into my neck.
"Mmm, how am I going to be enjoying myself when i'm not with you?" I said with a laugh.
"You better make yourself look ugly so I'm not tempted to steal you away."
I laughed and playfully pushed him away from me.
"Just for that, i'm going to look so good." I smirked. "Just to tease you."
He sat up and rolled on top of me, pinning my arms at my sides.
"I will kill him if he touches you inappropriately." He growled softly into my ear.
"Is Axel Gains jealous?" I gasped.
"I do not get jealous. Everyone is always jealous of me." He stated proudly.
"Cocky, huh?" I said, trying to keep in a laugh.
"Wanna find out?" He winked.
"Axel!" I screamed as my face reddened.
"Oh relax, Miss Virgin."
"Don't make fun of me for my morals." I said, trying to defend myself.
"You know, you're cute when you're embarrassed."
I sighed and got up from the bed. This was taking time out of my prep.
"I'm going to get going." I say as I start to walk out.
"Hey, you need me to drive you home. Gosh, I thought you were smart." He chuckled.
"Yeah, coming from the blonde." I said and rolled my eyes.
We got into the car and turned on the radio to B96. It was rocking the airwaves today. Unfortunately the drive was only 10 minutes, so we could only sing three songs. The most embarrassing one being when Axel sung It Girl by Jason DeRulo to me. Hand gestures and all.
"Okay, calm down before you don't have a voice." I laughed.
We were now sitting out front of my house. I was stalling because I didn't want to leave him yet, but it was almost three.
"Thanks for an awesome date last night." I said as I got out.
He turned off his car and out out.
"What kind of southern gentleman would I be, if I didn't walk you to the door after our date?" He said as he walked with me.
"Thanks." I said as I unlocked my door.
Axel turned me around and I just starred at him. His fingers gently traced over my cheek and my eyes fell.
"If he hurts you, or if you don't feel safe, call me or Chelsy. We'll come get you out of there." He whispered.
"I will." I said as I opened my eyes, only to have them fall back down as he kissed me.
"I'll see you at the club, Lauren."
"Bye, Axel."
Now to get ready for the club.
