I was wondering around the hall to find Alayna. Until I heard her voice from the left. I reached to what looked like the kitchen.
Alayna was crouched next to the oven patiently waiting.
"Alayna, come back. We cant be here!" I rushed towards Alayna trying to usher her away but she stood her ground.
"if we wait here a few minutes, ill be able to eat the cake" her eyes sparkled with excitement.
My shoulders sagged in empathy as I cant give her what she desires.
Before I could make my move, something hit my head. What was that? I immediately turn around in the direction the spoon came from to find no one there. Before I could ponder any longer, Alayna frantically tugged at my apron pointed towards what looked like fog on a stormy day. I stopped the oven from allowing any smoke to exit. I didn't know what to do with the smoke which surrounded us, I rushed to open the windows and got a cloth desperately waving it to remove any traces of smoke. After I finished my duty, Alayna stared at the content inside the oven. It was an apple crumble which as more darkish on the left corner which wouldn't have been a problem yet fear paralysed me, unable to move or think.
"move! move quicky"
I felt hands brush me away from the oven as Nancy took charge. I inched my way far from the mess I created. Unlike my statue self, Nancy ran around the kitchen trying to do whatever possible to save us. The clicks of the heel could be heard down the hall gradually getting louder and louder.
It was too late.
She was here. She stared me down before inspecting the kitchen as if she didn't care about what was happening. The terror in Nancy's didn't prepare me for what was to come.
She started to cackle and before anyone could blink an eye she the crumble at her feet.
"clean this up!" she said in a cold voice.
Nancy stepped forward bur before she could go any forward she said....
"not you" she looked me dead in the eyes "her"
As I bow down on my knees she pressed her foot down on to my hand slowly increasing the pressure. I was too scared to make a noise. As the pain increased her smile grew more wicked.
"behave otherwise you wont be the one who gets hurt"
As I look up I could see her pointedly looking towards Alayna. At this point my worries over shadowed my pain.
She turned her back towards us. We have to escape this place.
