Chapter 5

"Dahlia, nasa baba si Miguel. Susunduin ka daw niya?" seryosong tanong ng dad niya sa kanya.

Yego Tantoco is a powerful businessman. But when it comes to her, he becomes a hilarious, funny dad. Pero may mga araw na extra protective ito sa kanya. Lalo na kapag nakikita nitong may mga lalaking umaaligid sa kanya. But Miguel should be an exception. He's a childhood friend of hers at anak din ito ng matalik niyang kaibigan, si Aries Montenegro.

Katabi niya ngayon sa dresser ang Mama niya habang inaayos ang make-up nilang dalawa.

She was in a black long-gown hugging her body perfectly. She may not have the boobs pero shapely naman ang balakang niya. Her body was more of a model-type, slim but with the right amount of curves to not make you look stick thin.

"Talaga?" tanong din ng Mama niya. "Binisita ka rin niya kanina sa opisina mo, anak, hindi ba?"

"Is he... making a move on you, Dahlia?" tanong ng Papa naman niya.

If only. "No, Ma, Pa. I just... I finished a project with him for One Philippine Air. He's just returning the favor. He wants to also... talk me up with Aspen. I feel so awkward talking to him after so long. Two years din kaming hindi nagkita ni Aspen. At least, Miguel can help me warm up to him," she answered, still continuing the lie on that project.

"Well, Aspen seems to be down-to-earth. I'm sure you'll both get along well," sagot naman ng Mama niya.

"Doesn't it look weird na dadating kayong magkasama sa bahay ng maaaring fiance mo sa hinaharap?" his dad suddenly asked.

"He's just a good friend, dad."

"If I don't know the kid, I would think he likes you at binabakuran ka niya ngayon. But since he's your friend and also Aspen's, then I would give him the benefit of the doubt." His dad was about to leave the room ng pumasok naman si Gio sa kwarto.

"Why is that asshole waiting for your downstairs?" parang nagdududang tanong ni Gio.

"Isn't he your best friend for you to be calling him asshole?" tanong naman ng Mama niya.

"Well, he's an asshole to me kung pinopormahan ka nya, Dahlia," his brother answered, being protective this time.

"Aspen should be the one you're castigating, Gio. Not Miguel," singit naman ng Mama niya.

"I'm fine with Aspen, Ma. I just don't tolerate dudes stealing someone else's girl," sagot ni Gio.

"I am not Aspen's girl," inis na deklara niya. "I haven't even said 'yes' to this whole scheme yet. So please, just leave me be. I'll deal with Miguel later. And stop asking questions, okay?"

Napuno na siya. She has to deal with Miguel once and for all.

"Damn, you look so fucking hot in that dress I just wanna skip this party and drive to our suite now!" Miguel whispered nang maka-park sila ngayon sa loob ng mansion ng mga Alcaraz. "Or we can quickly go to the hidden part of the garden? Remember when we did things there?"

"Miguel, tara na. They're probably waiting for me already. Aspen might also be looking for me."

Nakita niya kung paano nagbago ang ekspresyon nito. "Trust me, he isn't."

"What makes you say that? He knows about this arrangement already."

"But I'm sure he didn't go home last night after we celebrated his homecoming."
