Ghost Ship

Kanan Dume-Syndulla smiled down at his beautiful son. Only a year old and already using the force. Kanan recalled how when Zeb tried to feed Jacen and the toddler pushed the food and spoon away. A tear fell from Kanan's eyes; he already knew the necessary sacrifice he would have to make to tear away the Empire's grasp on Lothal.

Jacen looked up and cooed curiously, grasping at the recent haircut Kanan gave himself. Kanan said softly, gently using the force to embed the memory. "If you ever need me, just call out my name. I'll be there, no matter what." Taking a deep breath, he began to sing.

Remember me
Even though I have to say goodbye
Remember me
Don't let it make you cry
For even if I am far away, I'll hold you in my heart
I sing a secret song to you each night we are apart.

Jacen started to yawn and fall asleep. Kanan gently laughed and placed his son in his bed.

Remember me, for I always will.

Closing the door, Kanan Dume-Syndulla went on his last mission on this side of the force: rescuing his wife from the Empire.
