You've been staying with your grandma for the past few days ever since you last spoke to Yuji in person. Your grandma had kept you occupied by helping her with gardening at the back. Thankfully it did help forget the loneliness lingering in your heart. You never knew how much Yuji would've impacted your life. It's been almost a good month since he entered. What you really missed most about him was his cooking.

While you were spaced out outside during your gardening work, Gin was looking at you from afar. She was about to tell you to stop being lazy; however she didn't. Gin closed her mouth as she saw an unfamiliar expression taking over your face. For 10 years that she has been taking care of you, nothing has ever captivated your attention until now.

It must be that Yuji boy. Since she came here, all she's been talking about is Yuji. How much he cooked for her, how he talks to her about anything and everything, and so forth. Gin smiled to herself, taking off her hat and wiping off her sweat.

Gin wasn't too surprised that you have changed for the better. In her eyes, you looked healthier and content whereas before you weren't. She's glad. As long as you're taking good care of yourself, she's able to rest in peace.

"Y/n!" Your grandma called, snapping you out from your thoughts.

"Yes?" You looked at her, wondering what she wanted.

"Let's go inside to rest for a bit."

Sitting in the dining room, you guys were sipping on ice tea to cool your bodies down from the hot sun. You were busy admiring the red spider lily you brought with you as it sat in the middle of the table. Although it disheartened you that you and Yuji couldn't take care of it together, it was okay since it'll make Yuji proud of you. He will see the result and the longevity of the plant when he next sees you. You really hope the plant wants to survive through the winter.

"It surprised me that you're keeping the plant alive." Your grandma commented out of nowhere, and you shifted your eyes to her.

A relaxed smile formed on your lips as Yuji's face popped inside your head. His bubbly and sun-like aura gave you tranquility and a sense of hope. Then your eyes gently looked back to the plant. "Yeah I am. Yuji suggested we take care of it. But since he's going to be with Satoru, I'll do it. I'll show Yuji I can take care of a plant." You laugh wholeheartedly, feeling your chest all fuzzy and tight. Thinking or even talking about Yuji made you feel that way. You believed it's because you missed his present in the house, and not having him there was affecting the smallest thing you did.

Suddenly your sly grandma commented on your behavior, amused upon your change of attitude. "You know, you've been only talking about Yuji ever since you came here."

Your face flushed as you didn't expect her to say that. You didn't know you talked about Yuji so much during your stay.

"You make this old woman feel very single and lonely!" Your grandma laughed and stared at you with calming eyes like the wind dancing through the forest. "But overall, I'm glad Yuji is treating you well. I love when my granddaughter is happy."

Still acting shy about her previous statement, you couldn't look her in the eyes. There's just something about her statement which made you feel weird.

Did I really talk about Yuji that much? I feel like I didn't really. He only came up if I recalled something that we both did.... That's interesting to hear. You said to yourself, trying to think hard about it yet at the same time not to. You didn't want to read into it since it's not a big deal. Your grandma was just pointing out how you changed and that's it.

"Thanks... I guess...?" Your response reflected on your confused state.

Then you thought about Kameko since you brought the books to your grandma's house. "Grandma, do you know anything about Kameko?" You believed she would know something since she's older and wiser than you, but sadly it's not what you're expecting.

"Dear, I don't know anything about her. Nobody does. Her life is mysterious."

Her words put your heart in unease. If that's the case, you weren't really sure if the books would provide any useful information. Yet you hoped it did.

You sighed. "Okay, grandma. I'm going to read some books I got from the school. I'll finish doing my outside work later!"

You headed out because this time, you had to study about Kameko before it's too late. The higher ups are on your ass and bitching about your status, and you weren't going to let them bully you around. Your life didn't crumble down for no apparent reason. You suffered a lot so you were going to make sure you fulfill whatever duties you had as Kameko.

In your room, you were reading through the books on your bed. It didn't tell you anything about Kameko's life. All it told you about was how she created the jujutsu society. You wanted to know more about her pre and post jujutsu life. It bothered you how Sukuna knew more about her than you do. How do you not know your own lineage? You felt a bit at loss and devastated.

Shutting the book in your hands, you tossed it to the side where you threw most of the useless books. Your fingers dragged across your face, tugging your skin as you were frustrated. You couldn't understand why there's no real information about her. You're tired of reading the same text over and over again.

"Damnit! Do I have to talk to Sukuna now?" You huffed, rolling on your side as you stared at the wall. You were a bit worried since he literally rubbed you the wrong way. "He's weird... but I don't think I have a choice if these books aren't helping. I'm going to be making a deal with the Devil now."

Laying in bed in silence, you begin thinking more about Kameko's mysterious life. "If they worshipped Kameko for being the mother of jujutsu... Why is there no information about her?" You knew any historical figure would have a pre and post life of their memorable event where they became famous. "Something is not adding up... They would've stalked her to find out her whole life." Nothing clicked in your head. Kameko's well-known yet there's not much about her. "What are they trying to hide?"

As you thought more about it, your head began to hurt. You really wanted to uncover Kameko's life right then and there but you couldn't. There's just no possible answer. You'll have to talk to the only source—Sukuna since he's ancient history. Plus, he has a weird obsession with you too as you don't even know why.

Ring ring ring

You heard your phone buzzing on the nightstand. You didn't know who was calling you. You recalled Yuji texting you about how he'll be on a mission so he won't have time to text back. Nonetheless, who could it be?

Gravitating to your phone, you picked it up and saw Nanami's caller ID. You two never really talked unless you were thrown into his care when Gojo didn't have time to watch you. To be fair, Nanami was much suited to being a better caretaker than Gojo. Nanami was very detailed and attentive when you were under his care for a while.

"Why would he be calling me?"

Picking up the call, you didn't expect much. Perhaps you thought he called because of Gojo or something. You didn't know why Nanami believed you got the power to stop Gojo's dumb antics.

"Hello?"

"Y/n, this is urgent." You heard Nanami's stern voice and it meant business. He also sounded very exhausted from something. You didn't even know what was going on, but he was definitely breathing hard through the phone. "I will cut to the chase. Yuji is out to find a student from your old school, Junpei, because he's in danger. He's at your old school right now. I don't have anyone else to contact or who knows about Yuji's status. I don't want to rely on you—"

You felt your heart racing in anxiety as you didn't understand the full picture but knew it's serious. All you could think of was Yuji. You wanted to know if he was okay and unharmed. You remembered telling Yuji not to have any attachments at the school yet he did. Now it was stabbing him in the back. Biting your lips while you gripped your phone tightly, you gulped the lump of saliva down your throat and cut Nanami off. "I'll be there!"

You ended the call and rushed out of the house to find the fastest train to your old school. Time was ticking and you wanted to make it in time before anything bad happens. Your heart and mind wanted to protect Yuji since he has done so much for you already. But you were definitely afraid of him losing his smile and innocence of this event. This jujutsu society is a shit show.
