The Adventure Begins

Avangilene P.O.V.

I woke up to my phone alarm yelling to get up. I was so excited to be leaving this sorry excuse of a town. Once I finished getting ready and made sure I had everything, I walked out to my car and began to drive as I called Flynn.

"Hey you."

"Oh someone's in a good mood aren't they."

"Why yes I am. You on your way now?"

"Ya, I'm pulling into the neighborhood now."

"Alrighty then. I'll see you soon, okay?"

"Okay. I'm here so come drag yourself out of your cozy home and into my tiny car."

"Haha very funny."

"Hurry up!"

"Okay I'm coming. Bye."

When I saw him he was carrying one suit case and had a sway in the way he walked. He was acting strange again and I couldn't figure out what it was. After he put his suit case in the back and hid his money with mine, he buckled up and I began to drive away from everything we knew.

"So where we going Angie?"

"I don't really know, but I can tell you we are leaving this desert and going somewhere nicer."

"Cool! Well I'm gonna catch some Z's. Let me know when you get tired and want me to drive."

"Okay I will, now sleep, child."

I heard him laugh and then drift off into a peaceful slumber. I was nervous that I would just let him down or worse-he wouldn't accept me for what I was or the powers I had.

As the day went on, Flynn woke up around 10:00am and plugged his phone into the aux cord and we sang together to Imagine Dragons, Battle Cry. When the song was over he turned down the radio and began to talk to me.

"Angie, where are we going to eat breakfast?"

"Have no fear Fly guy, I brought pop tarts. They are on the back seat."

"Oh cool, thanks, I see them...." he paused after taking a pop tart out of its packaging. A few moments went on before he spoke again. "So Angie where exactly are we?"

"We are in the wastelands of Las Vegas."

"So, the desert?"

"Ya pretty much. But the map on my phone said that we will soon be approaching Arizona."

"Oh, so we are going down south?"

"No. I was thinking we could make our way to New York."

"I'd like that. It sounds like we have a plan then, Ms. Avangilene."

"Indeed we do, Sir Flynn."

We where laughing when out of nowhere a black SUV pulled along side of us and pushed my car off the road. As we were swerving I hit the brakes as we saw another black van pull up next to my car. I froze as they told us to step out of the vehicle. Flynn only had a look of concern on his face as he spoke.

"Angie, we are gonna be fine. Just follow my lead, I know you got this."

"Okay?"

When we stepped out of my car I looked at Flynn and began to worry that I might have to use my powers. When I was about to use them Flynn raised his hands and roots came out of the ground and crushed both of the cars. I sat there amazed as Flynn shouted at me. I was in shock and heard nothing until Flynn threw a rock at me.

"Angie, use your powers! NOW!"

I shot water out of my hands and pushed the men back into their crushed SUV's and knocked them out. When I knew they where out cold Flynn and I got in my little Kia soul and I cracked.
