"Joong what if something happens to me suddenly?" The question suddenly made me curious making me focus at the person sitting beside cuddled up on the couch.

"Why this question? Don't tell you have a disease or something." I teased her yet feeling a bit strange.

"Shut up and answer me first." It sounded like a demand now.

"I won't let that something to happen in the first place." I replied casually.

"Joong be serious for a while naa~" She whined.

"I don't understand why do we need to talk about something like this now." I replied angrilly. We had just started our life together, just started walking hand in hand to see the future, then why now? Why this topic?

"Joong we can't stop oblivion. It's inevitable. Something might happen to me or you or anyone close to us anyday. I'm just talking about the what if's here. What if I die earlier than you? Will you be able to start a new life again? Love someone again?" She really sounded desparate making me gulp in hesitation.

"It's stupid. Even if I can't save you it won't stop me from joining you. I'll join you sooner." I dodged the questions giving a different answer. Really what would I say anyway? What does a sane person normally do when the love of their life dies?

"No you won't and that doesn't answer my other questions." Hell why was she so determined to find out those answers from me? It wasn't like she was really dying.

"Because there isn't any answer to it. It's obvious that I will never be able to love someone again and won't love either. It's just you in my heart. And it would be you forever. There will never be any place for anyone else, Mia." I finalized sighing deeply.

She smiled shyly before adding, "Promise me, you'll love me forever and won't replace me? Even if it sounds selfish?"

"Oh you really are so selfish. Really really really." I said teasing her trying to light up the mood.

"Joong~" She pouted cutely.

"Aish my little girl. I promise." I said holding my chest near my heart.

"Then I'm okay with it. I'll watch you cry for me from above and don't complain if I laugh at your silly face." She said laughing on his own joke.

"And who said I'll cry?" I asked pinching her nose.

"Okay let's see who cries more, you or me." She challanged.

"No I don't want to let any of your imaginations to occur. So no. No deal from me." I objected getting up to bring us something to eat from the kitchen.

"Alright alright but don't you ever dare to forget your promise." She shouted from the living room for me to hear and I chuckled.

"Hmm I will never ever forget my promise. It's sealed with my heart." I said romantically earning an eyeroll from her.

What I only wished to the God was to always have her beside me. I had started the first chapter of our relation with happiness and love only. There was no space for sorrow.

And yet the very first chapter of my book was tainted with loss. Because Mia died. A month after that day when I had promised her she died in a car accident. Leaving behind me and my promise.
