I see you've found his secret

◇this is written from Oji's POV◇

I walked into the bathroom and turned the water on, the bathroom overcome with steam, I looked at myself in the mirror for a moment before starting to undress, I got in and washed my hair, all the while wondering. Had anything happened between Tomodachi, and Yoru? Even if they were kids, a childhood friend has got to be something...unbreakable. truth be told I loved Yoru, I felt a burning in my heart to even think about her, and when she was near I wanted her in my arms, and even still closer, if it was possible, I never wanted to be away from her. I liked Tomodachi, but if he was going to come between Yoru and I...I didn't want to think about it.

I got out of the shower, and I got dressed, I dried my hair, but as the towel shifted from my hair and down my face, I looked up into the mirror, at my red eyes...such a dead color, why? Why did I have to have that horrid color...the same that is spilt from those we drink, and those of.....those of my brothers slain in battle. Of course they could be blue, or even grey too, when we were sick, or driving into a realm of daydreams. I finished up, and walked out.

"Yoru?" I gestured to the bathroom with my head, she nodded, and got up. I walked past her as she went into the bathroom, and I sat on the bed in her place next to Tomodachi. I bowed my head. "You're worried" I heard him speak, "I don't know what about, but I can smell it on you" he said. "S-smell is on me?!" I questioned. "Yeah, I-..." He stopped, I glared up and saw his orange eyes glowing, "she didn't tell you?" He asked, "tell me what?" I stared deep into his eyes hoping for a flicker of answer, "I'm a cat shifter" he said.
I glared at him, "but they're all dead right?" I asked, "no just in hiding" he stood up and walked to the center of the room, he nodded his head and blinked his eyes happily, before I knew it he had orange ears, his eyes still closed he smiled, and small pointed feline teeth showed, I saw movement in the corner of my fixed gaze, and when I glanced, he had an orange tail too, he opened his eyes and glared, they gleamed with happiness and a mysterious type aura.

"That isn't all" he mewed, a second later a saw him flash, he was shrinking but not slow as wolves did, it was less than a second, and the small orange cat jumped into my lap curling into a ball, and rubbing it's side carelessly on my stomach prancing from one leg to the other, as cats do. He purred and I lifted the small creature into my hands, holding it just under the forelegs, it seemed to smile at me before raising a paw to lick it, and rub it over it's forehead.

"So you're a cat" I said, I suppose it was more of a scoff than a question. I sat the orange ball on the bed, and watched as it curled up and yawns. I smiled, and looked at Tomodachi, as he looked back, the cat seemed to smile happily back to me. It was then that the door opened, and Yoru walked out, she looked just as composed and neutral as ever, I suppose it was only this shifter, and I that could have ever known she could smile, not only that, but I'm sure, I laughed as I thought to myself. I looked at her, then back to the cat "I see you've found his secret" she  mumbled
