The moon rose high in the night, sending a low light over the dead city of new York. The city was a painted reminder of the nuclear war that had ended humanity as it was.
The tall skyscrapers had crumbled long ago, and the few that still stood were growing weaker everyday. The once bustling cities were covered in cobble and dust, giving New York a never before seen look of abandonment.

Reikonshoumetsu sat up, a burning pain spread like fire in her back as she moved.
"Ahhh.." She groaned, and lifting a hand she reached back and gingerly touched her back. There was no wound, yet there was an unnatural lump there that Reikon had never felt before.
"What the..." She said as she took a look around. Her eyes took in the surroundings quickly, and her breath became sharp.
Four concrete walls hugged tightly to her. On her right was a ladder, rather rusty and Reikon doubted it got used much.
As she continued to look, she came across another body in the small space.
"Huh, wh-" She began to speak to herself, yet stopped.
Her eyes became wide with realization, as the memories began to flood back to her. All of it, the war, the chaos and hysteria, and the hiding.
