Reikon reached the top of the latter, and with a deep breath through the gas-mask, she lifted the heavy door that had covered the entrance. As she climbed out, her eyes were meet by a low-light sceen of disaster.
A few feet away from her bunkers hole, a subway train was parked. The front end of the train was lifted up off the tracks, and the roof of the train seemed to be holding a small portion of the roof up.
Reikon looked around, before putting the door back into place as she stepped out. She looked at the door, it looked more like a manhole than a bunker door, and she guessed that's what kept others out of it.
Reikon sighed softly, and began to walk in no way in particular. As she walked, her hands slipped into the pockets of the hoodie that rested on her shoulders. As she walked however, one hand slipped out and pulled her hood up over her short cut brown hair before returning to her pocket.
She walked the best she could on the tracks, at a few points she climbed onto the platforms due to blocked tracks.
After around an hour of walking, she came to an unblocked set of stairs, and went up.
The sight that greeted her eyes was not kind, yet she was quickly becoming accustomed to horrible things.
The city was a mess, chunks of the buildings had fallen to the streets, cars were smashed and blood was everywhere. Yet eerily, there wasn't a body to be seen, just a couple of skeletons. For the mass amount of destruction, she figured there would be thousands of casualties? Had everyone run away that fast... She doubted it.
Possibly the bomb had disintegrated the bodies - but there was skeletons.
Her mind idled on the question as the answer wondered just before her. A single person hobbled into the street, and Reikon almost yelled with joy until she looked closer.
Although the person walked just like any normal person would, something was off.
Reikon learned out what as a screech emitted from the form, a high pitch blood curdling sound that made Reikon shudder. With that, the creature faced Reikon and began sprinting towards her with arms outstretched.
"Ohhhh sh-..." She said, not waiting long before she turned tail and began to run through the streets without a single glance behind her.

An hour of running later found Reikon in an old neighbor hood. She stood still for a second, catching her breath. She had to find shelter, she had to find a way to protect herself. The world was clearly different now, and she didn't know what to expect, other than pure danger.
