The grass felt so lovely underneath her bare feet as she walked down the small stream, stopping every so often to pick some flowers for a bouquet she wanted in the center of her dinning table.

As Y/N went to pick a gorgeous full red rose a voice in her ear startled her, "That's lovely darling."

She pricked her finger on a thorn and dropped the flower, turning around and seeing none other than Loki, her muse.

"Loki! You creep, what are you doing here?" Although Y/N was happy to see him, happier than she probably should be at least, he wasn't supposed to come down to Midgard for another two weeks.

Y/N was a local artist, Loki being the center of all her paintings and even owned a small gallery in New York. Loki had been in New York dumping Odin in an old folks home (she had later found out) when Y/N had accidentally bumped into him and was simply stunned into silence by his beauty. She had to paint him and she told him that, in a less creepy way.

The God of Mischief was quote "honored" and told her that he shall find her in a week, giving her only a smile as he walked away; a week later he had showed up at her door. It was then that Loki had explained that he was a God and king of Asgard which Y/N thought that he was crazy until he had shown her a few of his powers.

To be honest Y/N didn't really care that Loki has done some not so humane things in the past and believed that maybe he has changed, he seemed so kind to her and often brought her random Asgardian momentums.

The current piece she had been working on was photo negative of who he was, and what he displayed to the world but she hadn't told him that yet in fear that he would refuse to allow her to display it in her gallery.

"I wanted to come see you, frankly being King has gotten just a tad bit boring." He stated, picking up the rose she had dropped and handed it back with a smile.

"Ah, I see. Finally thinking that you're in a little over your head then?" Y/N giggled before looking up at him, she suddenly realized the height difference between them and blushed.

"Something like that." Loki answered simply before leaning just a little closer to her.

Too say that the two had feelings for each other was an understatement; they were crazy but also just a little stupid. Neither had any experience with real love, if that's what you would call this, so they just stared at each other until Y/N had finally stood on her toes and pressed a quick innocent kiss on the God's lips.

Loki smiled with his eyes closed and quickly placed a hand on her waist and kissed her again, a true kiss this time with passion and just a little bit of the love he felt for the midgardian. They kissed until Y/N's face was a bright pink, and she was slightly huffing for air.

"Y/N," Loki whispered, lips still barely touching Y/N's as he brushed a loose piece of hair behind her hair, "I'd love for you to come back with me, if only for a little while."

"To, to Asgard?" She asked, almost bewildered. It all sounded so ridiculous, being in love with a god, kissing said god, travel to a different world. If she hadn't already pinched herself silly she wouldn't believe it.

"Of course! I must admit, I think about you and I just want you to be by my side."

He was holding her face in his hands now which made it hard for her to think. "I, I mean I guess I could. For a little while I guess."

Loki was so happy with that answer that he gripped her waist tight and twirled her around, adoring the laugh that blessed his ears.

"Don't worry your pretty little head about anything, I will provide anything and everything you'll need."

His smile was so big it was hard for Y/N not to return it. Loki held out his arm for her, "Just hold on, I promise you'll love it. The castle, the magic, the food."

Never in his life would he have though that he would have such strong feelings for a midgardian, and now he's taking her to Asgard? If his father was there he'd absolutely loose his head at this.

Her smile lit his dark world, brightened his bad days and made him see more good in the realms. He needed her and he knew it, although he'd never tell her that.

"Wait! Wait," She had almost forgotten, Y/N wanted to show Loki the piece she had been working on recently. She was still a nervous wreck about showing him but she had also figured now was a good enough time as any. "I'd like to show you something back at the house before we go, if you don't mind."

"Well I don't mind at all"

When they got back to Y/N's house, she struggled putting the key in the lock her hands were shaking so bad. At this point she was on the verge of a panic attack; Y/N wanted Loki to love this painting as much as she did and hopefully he would be able to see that this was probably her best work to date.

Loki noticed her nerves (you'd have to be an idiot not too) and placed his hands over her shaking ones, "Are you alright my darling?" He asked softly. "I just, have been working on a painting without telling you and I just...I just hope you like it."

"I haven't disliked anything you've created so far." Loki chuckled as they walked into the entry way where the huge painting was leaning against the wall. Loki was stunned into silence, which Y/N couldn't decide if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

The painting was Loki in his frost giant form, with his gold horns and a lavish green suit; the background was black which gold splattered around him. It wasn't that much different to what she had previously painted but Loki had refused to talk or even acknowledge his frost giant side, which was understandable considering but Y/N couldn't help but see the beauty in this form; his true form.

But Loki didn't like it. She watched him and he hadn't moved or said anything and therefore he didn't like it and she should just throw it away.

Y/N quickly shuffled past him and went to grab the painting, "I'm-I'm sorry, it was a stupid concept and I'm sorry if I, if I over stepped my boundaries. I know you don't like to talk about it and I'm just really sorry and I-" Before her rambling could go on Loki had stopped her from picking it up and grabbed her face for a kiss, a really nice kiss that made her brain forget everything it has ever learned in a second.

"I absolutely adore it."

He said simply, stroking her cheeks with his thumbs. "Perhaps we can take it with us to Asgard? I would love to have it displayed in my room."

"You, really? You like it?"

"I love it."

Y/N smiled. She felt stupid but also excited because he loved it.

She watched him pick it up and hold it under his arm before wrapping his other around her waist.

"Are you ready?"

"I was born ready Loki."
