Summary:

Eins x Ernst

A fairy tale will give you many chances at life, while reality will give you many chances to change your life if you can take the challenge and change it. Ernst took that to heart, knowing how one thing can change your future if you don't dwell on the past.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining with the breeze blowing rapidly. The trees danced with the wind as the flower petals blew past. The only could be heard was the leaves brushing past each other for everyone was occupied with their own tasks.

Count Rosenberg sat on the mini table set on his porch in the lake house. He sipped his tea paying no attention to the woman who placed herself on the opposite seat.

This was the type of day that everyone would want to spend outside. No noise, no trouble, and no people. Well, except for two.

Count and countess Rosenberg.

"Ernst, what are you thinking of? You've been sitting here staring at the same tree for ten minutes," Countess Rosenberg asked while dropping a sugar cube in her teacup. Her silky black hair and blue eyes were too similar to a certain person, but that was the reason Ernst had decided to marry her. Cruel, he knows.

"Just reminiscing, love," he grinned at her, finally taking his glance away from the plant.

However, his wife was unimpressed, "About what?"

"My best friend."

She looked down for a second and turned around to look at that same tree.

"Do you think he's married by now?"

Ernst poured himself another cup of tea, "No...I would have read it in the newspaper if so."

"Well, we aren't in Granzreich anymore, you know."

The trees ruffled again when a sudden burst of wind came back. The grass shook as Count Rosenberg gave a half-hearted laugh.

A fairy tale will give you many chances at life, while reality will give you many chances to change your life if you can take the challenge and change it. Ernst took that to heart, knowing how one thing can change your future if you don't dwell on the past.

"I have my sources back there you know."

"Is that so?"

Ernst's tone sharpened slightly, "I have sources everywhere."

The countess hesitated for a moment but inquired, "Trying to reach a point?"

Count Rosenberg sighed, their tea times were the only time they didn't argue.

"Are you pregnant?"

The countess seemed stunned at the question, but it was just an act.

Later she replied, "No."

"Don't do anything that would cause a scandal."

Countess Rosenberg knew what that had truly meant. Make sure that our child doesn't have blond hair with green eyes. It seems that Ernst did really have sources everywhere and knew every last detail of what happened last Friday night.
