Hell's Tears From Heaven

Week after fall of Uzushiogakure:

The first thing that hit Kazumi's nostrils was the smell of ash, blood, and death. He bolted upright and found his students laying next to him. Above him, black ash was falling from the sky as if the heavens were weeping black tears from hell. Near him and his team, Kazumi nearly choked on his breath when he found thousands upon thousands of Uzushiogakure shinobi laying sprawled dead on the ground. Their bodies stretched so far that he was sure the piles of corpses extended past the horizon, seemingly glowing from the waning sunlight. Speaking of the horizon, he could see that the sun was going to set soon, meaning that it was around dusk right now.  After quickly scanning his surroundings, Kazumi ran over to each of his genin to check their pulse. He made three kage bun shins to move his students towards the only standing building left on the island: the Uzukage tower. Hopefully, he would find the answers to how this massacre happened in there.

3 hours later:

"Hm, where are we?" asked Uzukurai groggily as he woke up. His head was pounding as if there was a miniature thunderstorm housed in his brain. The last thing that Uzukurai remembered was his sensei performing that fuinjutsu that he had shown them. Wait, Kazumi-sensei never told us what that jutsu was supposed to do! What if we were duped by enemy ninja pretending to be sensei?! Dammit, I should have checked his chakra signature before he did the jutsu, he thought. Looking around, Kurai found that he was in a rather spartan bedroom with white sheets and a soft mattress that he was currently sitting on. Beside him were his teammates Yoshokata and Nikata. After double-checking the chakra signatures of his two teammates surrounding him, he leapt off the bed and silently landed on his feet, taking his time to carefully examine the rest of the room, which included only a nightstand with a note on top of it. The note was written in Kazumi-sensei's handwriting and read:

Dear Uzukurai, Yoshokata, and Nikata,

I am writing this to explain the situation to all of you. I know that I didn't explain what the jutsu did or how it worked, but the long story short is that the seal transported us to the future. Yes, you can go on all day about how this is impossible, but to be fair, everybody said that reanimating the dead was impossible until the second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, created the kinjutsu known as Edo Tensei(please don't say anything about me telling you guys this forbidden knowledge when we return to the past, the Uzukage would have my head for that 😰[cue Uzukurai's sweat drop]). I woke up before all of you on a battlefield, so I made some shadow clones and brought everybody here to the Uzukage tower. It was the only untouched tower standing on the island. The rest of the village was reduced to mere rubble. There was an entire massacre of everybody in the Uzumaki clan. I am currently rifling through all of the Uzukage drawers and all secret vaults to attempt to understand how this tragedy occurred so that when we return to the past, we will be able to find a way to stop this from happening. Don't attempt to find me, as you will probably get lost in this labyrinthine tower. I will be back within the hour. If any of you are hungry, just enter your chakra in the seal underneath this note and your favorite food will pop up. I don't know who created this ingenius seal, but I'll be sure to thank them.

Love, Kazumi-sensei
