Chapter 18

I spent most of the night dancing with Mark and thinking about Lar. He didn't pay any attention to me and from time to time he made out with Anna.
Why wasn't he with me anymore? That was a mystery I would love to find out.

You don't know how bad I felt, a tear came to my eye and I started crying like crazy.

"Betty, are you okay?" Mark asked me.
"Yeah, I'm fine. "I lied.
"Come with me, my mother is driving us and we'll take you home. "
"Thank you, Mark," I thanked him.
"You're welcome. "

He hugged me and we spent 10 minutes without moving.    Later, his mother arrived. When I got out of her car, Mark grabbed my arm and kissed me. It was a very short and unimportant kiss, at least to me.

When I woke up the next day...
"I hope Mark forgot about the kiss." He hadn't.
He saw me walk into class and came running to me.
"How's my new girlfriend?" he said loudly.
"Mark, you're crazy! I'm not your girlfriend just because we kissed yesterday."

Everyone heard us, dammit!
