"Mom." I said not taking my eyes off the family sitting before me, the two adults were smiling and Bathroom girl was smirking. Why the hell was she in my house?

Who the hell was she, anyways!?

"Oh, Honey. You're home." My mother said joining us from the kitchen. I turned to her still confused about all of it. "Meet Alice, Frank and Andrea Jamison." She said pointing towards them, Andrea being the teenage girl.

"Hi." I said walking towards the armchair slowly.

"Nelly, umm... Your father and I have to sell the house and we're each going to find a place of our own and then from there you're going to choose who you want to stay with. I've already found a place I'm interested iin, and it's in the completely same area as this house, it's only a few blocks down the street." She said slowly.

Okay so, I have to move with one of them. What does that have to do with the 'Jamison' family?

I nodded my head and said, "Ummm, okay. But not to be rude or anything but what does this have to do with the Jamisons?"

"I was getting to that. The Jamisons will be taking you in until all of our transactions are completely done." She said reaching for my hand. I turned to her the instant she had said 'taking you in'.

What?

I couldn't possibly live with people I didn't know!

They couldn't make me do that!

"Mom. I could have stayed with Aunt Janice..." I said ignoring the fact that the family was still there.

"Nelly..." Mom said sounding offended for the Jamsions. I couldn't put it in a nice way, but I didn't want to stay with people that probably just moved here.

"Look, I'm sorry... But I can't live with someone that I've never met." I said practically talking back.

"Nelly, come with me, please." She said getting up.

I stood up and walked to the kitchen without a single glance towards the family sitting awkwardly on the couch.

"What has gotten into you?" My mother whisper-yelled when we reach the kitchen.

"Nothing! I just don't want to move in with strangers!" I said loudly.

"Tone that voice down, young lady. I will not accept no as an answer. You are moving in with them, they are not strangers. I've known Alice my entire life. You will only have to live there for a few weeks." She said slowly.

"Ha. Really? A few weeks? I've heard that one before, and you know how long that turned out out to be? A month!" I said referring to a trip that she had taken only two weeks before my 12th birthday. She had promised me that she would be back in time for my birthday and she didn't come back until two weeks after my birthday. I left her standing in the kitchen alone. I couldn't deal with so much stuff after that stupid weekend. I had a long weekend and so much happened that I couldn't take it anymore. I walked to my room & pulled out my phone. I dialed my dad's cell number and waited for him to answer, it rung 4 times and went to voicemail.

Dammit.

I called 3 more times with no luck. I finally gave up and walked back downstairs.

"I'm sorry." I said standing in the entrance of the living room where my mom was back talking with the Jamisons. Yeah, I apologized, but that didn't mean I had agreed on moving in.

"Oh, Nelly. You don't have to worry about it. It's fine." Alice said standing up.

My phone rang 3 times until I finally picked it up.
