"Nelly." Mr. Jamison spoke up, causing us to break apart. I looked at Blake's disappointed face. I was honestly disappointed, too, that would say something. "Blake, here, has had too much to drink, tonight. You two can talk about this tomorrow." He said. He looked a bit worried, but I could tell he was trying not to show it.
I walked to my room, silently.
I could hear Mr. Jamison speaking loudly and then Blake responding at the same voice level.
I blocked out their voices and fell into a deep dark sleep, the second my body hit the bed.
-------------------
I woke up and rubbed my head.
A dreamless night.
Why didn't I have a dream? Ever since Blake had moved here I had started having dreams and this was probably the first time I hadn't dreamt the same dream.
There was a knock on the door followed by a woman's voice, "Nelly, you're gonna be late." It was Alice.
I took a quick shower. I got dressed in black leggings , a large jumper and black ankle booties.
I pulled my book bag down the stairs and walked into the kitchen.
"Sit down, eat some breakfast." Mr. Jamison said.
"Where are Blake and Andrea?" I asked.
"They'll be getting to school around noon." Alice said.
I nodded and sat down at the small table. After eating in silence, I announced that I was leaving.
I got in the car and drove away.
"What the hell? I thought you fell off the face of the earth!" Skylar yelled at me, as I pulled my books out of my locker.
"I meant to text you, but I was kind of busy.... And a little pissed." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"What? Why?" She asked, shocked.
"I had to move- in one day!" I said abruptly.
"Well- shit." She said, obviously not believing me.
I gave her a look that said I was being serious.
"Where?" She asked.
"Andrea Jamison's home." I said simply.
"Who the hell is that?!" She blurted out.
"Quit the potty mouth, Skylar." Travis said walking up behind her.
"Travis's eye candy, that's who she is." I said, not thinking clearly.
"Who're you talking about?" Travis objected.
"Andrea- new senior." I said.
"Oh, yeah, that one!"
"That one." I mocked him.
"What about her?" He asked.
"Nelly's her new housemate." Skylar said.
"Shut up, Skylar!" I snapped.
"Well sorry..." She said.
"We gotta get going to class." I sighed.
Skylar and I walked alongside each other without saying a word. We sat down at our table and pulled out our sketchbooks.
I opened to the first page of my sketchpad and saw a folded piece of paper. I grabbed it, curiously and pulled it open.
'The truth may scare one person but please another. Are you scared or pleased?'
The seriousness in Blake's eyes when he said he loved me, rushed back to my mind, followed by the disappointment after our kiss.
