Chapter 4

They raced after Scott to the other side of the field to the small barn were the horses were kept, Scott motioned them to stop and then they leaned against the wall.
They heard the sound of meat tearing and frightened horses inside their stalls. "Wait here." Scott told them and turned to the half ripped open door and peered inside. The grotesque slurping and gouging sounds stop and Scott pulled back quickly.
"What was it?" Mike whispered demandingly "I d-don't know but it was big." He stuttered.
"Do we charge it?" Fritz breathed heavily in somewhat excitement. "We could but...I don't know." Scott replied. "Jeremy wait here." Mike commanded and put an arm in front of him.
" I'm not a child mike!" Jeremy whispered angrily "I know its just im worried after what happened last night." Mike tried to explain. "Im over IT!" Jeremy bickered a little louder in frustration. "GUYS ITS COMING!" Fritz whispered harshly. They stopped and heard something snarling behind the door. Scott raised his door to puncture its head when it moved out but whatever it was it was smart and ran out bolted out. Fritz started running after it. "FRITZ!" Mike shouted but Fritz ignored him and kept running but then realized he wasn't getting anywhere with the dexterity of two legs compared to four then drew his bow and shot an arrow. It flew for awhile and the animals left hind leg. He saw it in the distance shoot sideways and bite viciously at its hind leg then stop and turned to face Fritz. It crouched down and started running full speed towards him making loud raspy noises as it breathed heavily. He turned and saw the others weren't by anywhere in the barn
"SHIT!" Fritz he shouted and started running as fast as he could but the sound of a gallop was getting closer until it stopped and he turned and saw it wasn't there any more
"What the..." He turned and got knocked down to the ground. He tried to get up but it pushed him down he saw a larger hand holding him down with long claws,the pressure caused him to go in a coughing fit "D-Damn." He wheezed and started to cough hard enough to choke on the blood coming out of his lungs.He looked up and say the animal was slowly getting up from him and on to its hind legs and then strained to see its features in the dark. A loud bang ruptured out of the sky and the animal ran off. Scott, mike and Jeremy came galloping on horses "WHAT WE'RE YOU THINKING!" Mike yelled and reach down his hand to help him up. "I don't know!" Fritz wheezed. "Did you see it!" Scott demanded. "No it was too dark." Fritz confessed. "Well I hope you've had your excitement for tonight!" Mike scolded like an angry father. "Mike.You and Fritz go back to the barn and make sure it doesn't come back.Jeremy me and you will go to the forest where it was heading. we'll meet back at dawn got it." Scott told them. They all shook their heads except mike "Jeremy." "Mike ill be fine!" Frustration surged threw him at mikes recurring worrying. "....Fine lets go."
