It's ten in the morning and I was just sitting here, in the kitchen, swirling my fork on the almost empty plate. I devoured Davis's pancake only in five minutes. The taste was so good that made my tummy smile. Apparently, I wasn't able to go back to sleep since I'm awake this morning. I've tried to, but I got a lower back pain as the result of getting too long for slouching at the window seat. So, I moved onto the bed, but what happened next was I just keep rolling over, to the right and left for about two hours long. What a wasted time.
Knowing that I clearly failed to close my eyes, I decided to take a shower. The hot water showering me felt so great through my back pain. It was eased a lot. Hoping that the freshness would made me more relax, so that I could back to sleep. Whatsoever, sleeping is one of my favorite activities. You know, it's effectively killed the time. What an indolent Delilah.
Unfortunately, while I was enjoying the hot water at the bathroom, I heard the doorbell rang. For once, I ignored it. The second rang, I still ignored it. I mean, if we are visiting someone then pressing the doorbell, but the door isn't opened, surely, we will leave the house, assuming that he or she isn't at home, right? That's what I expected from whoever had pressed the bell, I don't want anyone to interfere with my quality time, though.
But I was wrong, that person kept pressing the bell, seemed like knowing that someone was in the house. The noise of the bell was so annoying. I finally gave up. I ended my shower, put on my bathrobe and slippers, wrapped my wet hair with the white towel, and hurried downstairs to greet that noisy person.
Surprisingly, there was no one out there as I opened the door and ready to meet the annoying guest. The cold air was the only one that greeted me. I even walked up to the main road, just in case I could still catch up and shout at that person. But still, there was no one to be found. With annoyed steps, I finally returned to the house, and locked the front door. This is maddening.
That's how I ended up at this kitchen island, still in this dark blue bathrobe, with probably in half dry hair, since it had been wrapped in such a quite long time, and now with already empty plate. Well, while my tummy has already full, I think it's time for me to get dressed. I felt cold by the way.
A moment I stood up, for the umpteenth time, the doorbell is ringing, again, and again. I sighed and rolled my eyes. What an annoying! "Alright, alright, I'm coming!" I shouted from the kitchen while walking towards that sound. I feel like I'm ready showing up my peevish towards that someone as I am yanking the door. But sadly, it happened again. There was only a cold wind blowing in my face. "What the hell?" I finally talked to myself. All of these turn me in suspicious. Is this doorbell broken or something? Even though I'm not good in electrical things, but I tried to check it out. I frowned as I was observing that black button. I pressed in couple of times. It worked so well. And when I tried to leave it for a moment, it doesn't ring. It showed that this thing shouldn't be damaged at all. So, I decided to go back inside, and close the door behind me. But for the last check, just to make sure, I deliberately peeping outside through the peephole, just in case if there was a prankster out there. I swear to God, if there's any, I'll shock anyone out there like they've never been before.
Still, no one out there, even the shadows. I sighed.
Suddenly, I just feel like there is someone standing behind me. Even though I'm not sure if it's someone or something, but I can feel it presence. The cold that felt on my nape gave a clear signal for that. My calves feel that too by the way. I swallowed hard, and somehow it felt a bit hurt in my throat. I'm sure it's because I'm apprehensive. I mustered all the courage within myself to turn around. I find no one. But somehow, the strange air is still here.
I tiptoe to scan every corner of this house. Living room is clear, so as the kitchen, and the bathroom as well. Next is upstairs. With me still tiptoeing, firstly, I scan to Davis's room. The door is widely opened. It's definitely clear. Everything looks neat. He let the window shut as always when he left. When I turn around, and about to checking on the opposite room which is mine, I saw something pass. More precisely, it was dashing. Shit! Why it should be in my room?? And why is this happening when I am home alone? I do love the thrill movies but doesn't mean I want it to be happen in my real life. Oh please, whatever is it, please be nice to me.
