Stress Ball

You are the firstborn,

The first to be thrown around,

The first to be blamed,

The first to be yelled at,

The first to take responsibility whether it be your fault or not,

But the last to be taken into account.

This is not to say that the other siblings don't have their own struggles,

But that of the first will always be different.

You are the firstborn,

The first to grow up,

The first to learn to suppress your emotions,

The first to set an example,

The first to keep quiet,

But the last to be taken into account.

Life is hard for the firstborn.

Society is unfair to the firstborn.

I wish for this to end...for there to be no firstborn responsibilities, no middle child syndrome, no spoilt/forgotten last child.

I want there to be children growing up but it will be a while before it comes for like the firstborn,

I have become people's stress ball.
