The Ice Queen is making me move to England. Just in case you wanted to know the Ice Queen is my mom. She's a publisher and England just happens to be known for its publishing companies. One day a guy called offering her a job at his company in London ... And she took it!
I felt like screaming but I knew it would get me no where. I've always wanted to visit England but to do just that VISIT! V-I-S-I-T! Not move halfway across the world! Not move to a different time zone than all of my friends! Not move where everyone has a different accent than I do! Do you think that when I told my mom all this she even bothered to listen? No! Of course not! She just shrugged her shoulders and told me that ill live! How in the world could she make her seventeen year old daughter move to England and away from the only life she's ever known?!
I know I'm being a big drama queen today ...well I am the Ice Queens daughter.... But it's moving day today. My mom and I are sitting in angry silence in the car on our way to the airport. The only plus side to all this was that we couldn't bring any furniture or all of our clothes with us so my mom promised to buy all new stuff as soon as we got to our new house. That's what had made me calm down enough to pack my necessities.
We pulled up to the airport at 2:30 am, an hour earlier than our flight at 3:30 am. I hopped out of the car with my carryon, purse, and my big suitcase. My mom did the same and we went to check in our luggage. I stomped ahead of her just let her know I was still mad.
After checking our luggage in we headed to the security checkpoint where we had to wait in line for half an hour! I mean seriously why were there so many people so early in the morning. I guess everyone had the same idea that no one would be here this early. By the time we finished we had just enough time to get to our gate on the other side of the terminal before the plane started to board.
The Ice Queens new boss bought our tickets for first class so the flight would be nice. I also didn't have to sit next to my mother because there weren't any seats left right next to each other so she sat two sits behind me. I did a happy dance in my head as I silently celebrated my small victory. This really would be a good flight.
After stowing my carryon in the overhead bin I took the window seat since no one else was in the row yet. I leaned against the window and was just starting to fall asleep when the overhead bin above opened with a loud bang.
Startled my eyes snapped open and I jumped in my seat. I started to relax when I realized it was just a boy maybe a year older than me putting his bag in the bin.
"Sorry love. I didn't mean to scare you." He said in a wonderful British accent that was deep and husky. He smiled noticeably amused.
I returned his smile, "That's alright, I'm jumpy as it is." He had curly brown hair that was peaking out from underneath a gray beanie. He had a snug white V neck shirt under a purple jack wills sweatshirt with dark gray sweatpants and white converse to complete his outfit.
What shocked me the most was his beautiful green eyes and adorable dimples that gave him a boyish charm. I suddenly felt self conscious about my own sweatpants and black tank under my favorite white Aeropostale sweatshirt. Now I really wish I would have put on some makeup or done something to my dark brown waves rather than just putting it in a loose bun and letting my side bangs hang across my forehead.
I pulled my legs up to my chest and played with the shoelaces of my PF flyers to keep from staring and studying his features. He took his seat next to me and buckled up which I did the same. With my head resting against the window again I soon fell fast asleep.
By the time I woke up the sun was shindig through the window. I stretched then fell back into my chair. "Did you sleep well?" A deep voice asked from beside me.
