A few minutes after I had gotten into the cab the Ice Queen climbed into the passenger seat followed by the driver in the drivers seat on the right. Yea that was going to take some getting used to. I plugged my headphones into my iPhone so I wouldn't be bothered into starting a conversation.

I couldn't believe she had actually hit me. She had never hit me like that before. Yea she had grabbed my wrist or arm but never hard enough to hurt. I'm not sure why I went off on her like that though I usually just keep it to myself but it was like all my walls that kept my emotions hidden came crumbling down.

I stared out the window watching as the city flew by while I listened to pandora. I hadn't even noticed the car had stopped moving or that I was now staring at houses instead of tall buildings until there was a quick knock on the window. I opened up the door to see my moms face.

"Are you going to stay out here all day or did you want to see the house." My mom said annoyed.

I ignored her and got out of the car. I grabbed my carryon and my suitcase out of the trunk before looking at the house. I had to admit it was a lot nicer then our old home. It was two stories and made out of brick. It had a two car garage and a green manicured lawn with a huge oak tree ( A/N I don't know if there are oak trees in London and sorry if there aren't but just go with it) providing shade for the whole lawn. Although I don't know why we would need the shade its fucking freezing out here with barely any sun shining through the clouds.

The house even had a porch with tan railings that went up to my hips along with a thick column on either side of the steps. I walked up the steps - there was only two of them - without too much difficulty dragging my bags with me. I dug through my purse for the keys my mom had given me before the flight. Finally finding them I stuck it into the keyhole and turned the lock.

The door opened up into a small foyer that was bare. I left my bags there so I could explore easier. Through the foyer I found the living room also bare. Right next to the living room was the kitchen that had a center island and a huge stainless steel refrigerator along with granite countertops. Sweet! Off of the kitchen I found the dining room that was bare as well but I could tell by the size and how the kitchen was open to it so it was pretty much one big room with the kitchen counter dividing it.

Walking back through the swinging kitchen door to the living room I found I wide hall. It had five doors. The first was a nice bathroom with a shower and toilet. I know right who would have ever imagined there'd be a toilet (note the sarcasm). There was even a sink! Just kidding, anyways moving on. The next door was what I assumed was a linen closet but was of course empty. What do you expect this is the first time we are even seeing the house? The third door on the other side of the hall was another empty room which I assumed we would make into a guest room. Again there was another empty room that would probably be my mothers office. The last door at the end of the hall had double doors with a piece of paper attached to it. It said moms room on it. I guess she had somebody already claim the room for her since she guessed I would get here before her.

Now to find the stairs since I guessed my room would be up there. I walked back towards the entrance right before the foyer I found a spiral staircase that I didn't know how I missed the first time through. It led to a wide hall that looked over into the foyer and part of the living room. The hall opened up into a good sized circular room with a window that went from the ceiling to the floor. There was another hall that was smaller but had three doors. The door at the end of the hall had double doors and had my name on it like my moms so I rushed to it. I threw the doors open and stepped inside. I was greeted by a very large open room.

The only piece of furniture was a nice full sized bed that had a black bed frame with a white sheet on it and a fluffy pillow with a white pillowcase. It looks like someone thought ahead and knew we would be too tired to try and get any furniture today. The bed wasn't what caught my eye though it was the glass double doors on the far side of the room. I ran over and pushed them open. The cool air from outside poured over me as I took a deep breath. Yes! I finally had a balcony and it was a good size too. I walked back into my room leaving the doors open and went to a door in the room. It was the bathroom which had a nice sink with plenty of counter space made out of marble. There was a toilet in the corner and a medium sized shower across from it. There was also a cabinet for which I would most likely put my towels and wash cloths.

Those were grand and all but I jumped for joy when I saw the huge bath tub that looked like a mini spa. It was probably big enough to fit two people comfortably. Not that I'm saying I would ever bring a guy in there with me .... Yet.

I walked out of the bathroom and headed over to yet another door that led to a huge walk in closet that I instantly fell in love with. I'm not one of those girls who all she cares about is her appearance and shopping for heels with dresses and skirts but I do like to look nice and I do need space to put my clothes so hey.

I walked out of the closet and decided to check out those other doors in the hallway. I first went to the one on the left. Inside it had a huge window that took up the entire far wall and went from the floor to the ceiling. It had an amazing view of the city off in the distance.

I was still admiring the view when a voice came from behind me, "It's pretty isn't it."

"Yea it is," I replied still staring out the window.

"I figured we could turn this into an art studio for you." My mom said from beside me.

"Really?" I said turning towards her.

She nodded then said," Come on, I think you'll like the next room even better." I followed her across the hall and through the other door.

My mouth dropped open when she stepped aside. There was a high tech sound board with one of the microphones from a music studios. Behind all of that was a keyboard along with an acoustic guitar and an electric one. I couldn't believe this! I have always loved music even more than art. I've been playing the guitar and keyboard since I was 10 years old. I asked my mom if I could have a sound board a couple times when I was 14 because i wanted to make my own music but she always said no.

I spun around and hugged my mom hard. "Thank you mom so much! I can't believe you remembered!" I took her by surprise and it took her a moment before she hesitantly wrapped her arms around me. If you couldn't already tell we didn't touch very much at all.

"You're welcome Riley. I didn't want you to be completely miserable here. I wanted you to have at least a little piece of home with you." Whoa she actually cared! I did not see that coming.

I pulled away from her and said, "So is the entire floor up here mine?"

"Yes it is. I decided you were old enough to have a little bit of independence."

I gave her a small smile and turned away from her to look at my soundboard. I didn't know what else to say. This was the first time in years that neither of us were being rude to each other. I guess she didn't know what else to say either because she quietly left the room. I looked around and decided maybe it wouldn't be so bad here. Awww shit I still have to go to school in a week! You can say I was not looking forward to that.

So sorry this chapter was kind of boring. There was probably way too much detail but I needed to write down what the house looked like so I wouldn't forget it. Ok I promise there will be more action in the chapters to come!
