I sat up and strained my eyes to open, tears blurred my vision. Quickly wiping my eyes, I hoisted myself up off what seemed to be a dirt trail. The area was unfamiliar. A forest, but a dead one. I heard a fire crackling in the distance and wondered if I was possibly kidnapped. It's a possibility. I, however, don't remember anyone who could've done that. In fact, I don't remember much at all. All I know is that my name is Y/N L/N and I wanted to hurt someone who... I can't find the memory of who this was or what they did to me. It's as if my memory was eaten away, lost to oblivion. I sighed softly and walked towards the sound of the crackling fire, coming to a clearing completely vacant of people.

I saw a couple of logs pushed over to a campfire. It brought back a memory that still wasn't fully clear to me. Five teens, including myself, sitting around a fire and talking. It wasn't clear what was said or what the other four looked like. It still felt like a happy memory, but I couldn't find myself able to smile.

With my mind wandering elsewhere, I failed to notice another's aura in my presence, until I received a tap on my shoulder. I looked over and saw a girl with bright pastel pink hair, a mask decorated uniquely to appear held together by stitches, and a hoodie over what looked like casual clothes you'd wear to school. Looking at her hand, she had a sharpened ruler with a circle compass attached to it as a makeshift weapon. I clenched my hand, wishing to have my Father's hunting knife. Wait. I remembered something! This is progress, great progress. The sad thing, however, is that my memory beyond the knife is blank as a sheet of sketching paper.

"What are you doing here?" her voice was proof she had a bubbly personality, "Are you new?"

I look back up to her eyes- err, mask, "I guess, I'm not very useful right now. I only remember my name and a few other unimportant things."

She nods and sits next to me, "I hope you don't mind me sitting with you, I got a bit bored back with my friends," the girl looked over to the campfire, "What is your name though?"

"Oh, right! I'm sorry, my name is Y/N, Y/N L/N!"

She smiled and reached her hand out, "Nice to meet you, Y/N, I'm Susie."

I shook her hand a bit too eagerly, glad to have at least one friend. She seemed to stare off somewhere behind me. Confused, I turned and saw black fog rolling in. It looked all too familiar. I clenched my hand into a fist again out of anxiety, only to now feel something in my hand. It was a hunting knife. The one from Father. Susie seemed to notice my confusion and came to a sudden realization.

"Oh! You really are a new killer!" she exclaimed, "I thought you were a new survivor that got lost!"

I must've looked at her a certain way because she started talking again. "Sorry, you must be so confused. So, uhm, what you need to do is kill all other people with you, it's like a game," she said this so casually, "They can't hurt you and all of you get, like, these special abilities that help!"

I looked back at the fog. It seemed unmoving, as if stalling or waiting on something. Susie continued to explain. "I think you're going to your first trial now, actually!" how could she be so positive? "We can go check out your perks if you come with me!"

I was skeptical, but I agreed nonetheless. She started leading, I began following. We walked for a bit before coming to a cave. I was beyond clueless at this point, I was completely oblivious to whatever the fuck this was. She walked in, I, however, refused to go on any further. She looked back, huffed, then grabbed my arm and dragged me along with her into the surprisingly lit cave. I was in awe when we stopped. A beautiful spider web was in front of us, huge and decorated with weird depictions. I still didn't understand, but it was still beautiful nonetheless.

"This is the blood wed," Susie spoke, "step on up and it will show you which perks you currently have."

I hesitate before stepping up closer to the web. The thing amazed me more when all depictions, other than four, disappeared.

"Normally, this is where we come to upgrade or learn new perks, but since this is your first time, you probably won't be able to do that," Susie explained, "Go ahead and check them out, you'll be able to learn them during your first trial."

I nodded and pressed on one of them. It was a hex.

"Hex: Crime Doesn't Pay - for every skill check missed it blocks the action for 60 second and for a skill check from healing downs said survivor."

Susie urged me to explain my perks to her after hearing that one, so I did.

"Salty Tears - After being hit, the survivor's vision is blurred for 2/4/6 seconds."

"Shame of Sadness - for all survivors lose speed, gen repair, etc."

"Hex: blood and bones - for each injured survivor the obsession loses progress on each gen they did by 7% for each survivor not the obsession they gain the blindness affect and groans are loud by 50%."

Susie seemed genuinely interested, so I guessed these were pretty good. She clapped her hands quite a few times, expressing her excitement.

"Once you've gotten the hang of these, your trials will be an easy win!" Susie exclaimed, "You absolutely must teach me them when you can!"

I laughed a bit, slightly flustered by the praise. It was nice to have a friend, she treated me like a sister. I thought of anything I could ask that could possibly help me in this 'game'.

      "How do I win?"

Susie looked at me for a second too long, my gut told me she was smiling. "Make sure no one leaves the gates. There will be meat hooks, you gotta put them on there three times to kill them."

I nodded, gripping my hunting knife tightly in my grip. And with that, the fog clouded my vision.
