A YT800 is a fan-made Detroit Become Human Android model created by Esryn, otherwise known as the author of this story, or more simply, me. The model itself was created by a corporation named Cyberlife, which designs and sells androids across the globe. The Y in the model name stands for "youth", And the T in the model name stands for "Teenage". My OC, Pigeon, is part of this model, and his model is the most recent model for child or teen-based androids. His model type is designed to simulate the look, behavior, and needs of a child.
A lot of old android owners had complained about the older models being too unrealistic, so Cyberlife created a new "breed" of androids that have a breathing and scent function, they also have the ability to eat without the food damaging their biocomponents, and on top of that they can feel pain just like any normal human. There's a lot more appearances with the model, as well. It gives the model more variation.
Upon the first few discussions of the model, many residents in Detroit complained that the models release may increase the difficulties of telling a deviant apart from a regular android, which increased the protest levels against androids by a large amount. While Cyberlife is currently still unable to remove the deviancy "error" completely, Cyberlife did attempt to make the LED in the android model more indestructible, and when removing the LED it causes stress and pain levels to increase dramatically. Too much pain or stress can cause the androids system to shut down for the maximum of an hour before it can be turned on again. If the model is exposed to too much pain or damage, the Android will break down completely, thus making the removal of the LED a difficult and dangerous task. Though, some deviants have found a way to remove the LED without getting severally damaged in the process.
Due to the models life-like tendencies, it costs more than a typical android and paperwork is doubled to help make sure android abuse levels decrease, due to the advanced pain and stress functions. We hope that some of this information encouraged you to purchase a YT800 of your own!
