Part 2

After Mia showered and got dressed she sat down on the couch in the living room to watch TV. About five minutes into an episode of "I love Lucy" the doorbell rang.

"Danny!!! Door!" Mia shouted. Assuming it was her brothers friend's.

"So? You get it!" Danny shouted back from his room down the hall.

Mia sighed and stood up from the couch, walked over to the door and opened it to see Logan, and an unfamiliar face. Logan flashed a smirk to Mia and waved. AJ too distracted with his phone to even notice Mia standing in the doorway. Logan plopped his hand on the shoulder of the unfamiliar boy standing beside him.

"Hey Mimi, where's your brother?" Logan asked.

Mia rolled her eyes, Logan had always called her Mimi just to irritate her.

"He's still getting-" Mia was cut off by her older brother.

"Yo." Danny pushed Mia aside as if she wasn't even there.

"Hey man, ready?" Logan nodded towards Danny.

AJ looked up from his phone almost immediately after Danny entered the outer hallway in the apartment building.

"Finally," sighed AJ, "You took forever."

"Thank you!!" Mia blurted, agreeing with him. AJ caught her eyes for a moment then looked back to Danny.

"Come on, the cars on." AJ turned and started walking towards the exit.

Danny turned to the curly blonde haired boy standing next to Logan,

"Who's he?" Danny asked.

"This is my cousin Alex, just got dumped so I though this would cheer the kid up." Logan smiled.

"Okay, let's head out." Danny kept his eyes on Alex for a moment, skeptical.

"Is Mimi going with us?" Logan looked at Mia.

"No way." Danny replied right away.

"Why not?" Logan questioned Danny in a almost pouting tone of voice.

"Because I said so." Danny stated.

"But she wants to go, right Mimi?" Logan pulled Mia in under his arm.

"I, uh, guess.. Why not.." Mia gave a small unsure smile towards Danny.

Danny sighed, "whatever." Mia smiled a bit more, a smile which Danny returned while nodding his head.

"Then it's settled! Come on!!" Logan rushed everybody out the exit, his excitement was plain to see.

They all piled into AJ's dark blue kia, Danny took the passenger seat and Mia sat in the middle of Alex and Logan.

"So where's the party?" Mia asked out of curiosity.

"Jerry Melgar's." Logan answered, putting his arm around the back of Mia's seat. Mia glanced behind her. Danny looked back at Mia and then to Logan, Logan retreated his arm from her seat.

Mia sighed, it's not that she wasn't comfortable with Logan, it's just that.. Danny is watching.

And that's uncomfortable, he probably felt the same. Mia glanced at Alex who stared straight ahead. He was.. very beautiful? For a boy, medium length flaxen hair and olive skin. She looked to Logan who was already staring at her.
