It was closing in on midday - Laurie was leaning against the hood of her truck looking at the Myers house, inspecting it, taking in every detail as the day slowly crept on. Halloween decorations had been set up on the front porch of the house, a jack-o-lantern had been messily carved and was sitting just by the front door. She looked at the house then watched the front door open, an older lady walked out and looked down at Laurie and crossed her arms over her chest and sighed. Her husband came up behind her and looked down at Laurie.

"Roger, she's back again" Sondra commented from the front door. She sighed. She felt very bad for poor Laurie. "Poor thing".

"Tell her to go away, Sondra. She's making me feel nervous" commented Roger, shaking his head before walking back inside. His wife gave a half smile then stepped out and closed the front door and tucked her hands into her cardigan and strolled towards Laurie who looked nervous but determined.

"Morning Laurie" she said as she crossed the street and approached her truck.

"Sondra. You need to get out" Laurie said. "He's alive, I've seen the video, he's out there".

"Laurie, please-"

"He'll come home again, and you can't be here, you need to leave now before the sun sets" Laurie demanded. She held back a tear. "Because when the sun sets and someone is alone in Haddonfield, he comes out and he kills. And nobody deserves to die tonight".

Sondra sighed. "Laurie, sweetie. I know you've been through so much but this can't keep happening". Sondra was a compassionate lady, she understood the torment that Michael Myers had inflicted upon a young Laurie Strode in 1978. But it was forty-one years ago, it was time to move on. "He's not going to come back because of some stupid holiday. Go honey, be with your family and look after yourself".

Laurie didn't budge. "Sondra, please".

"No!" She said with a stern tone. "Laurie, this is our home! We moved across the country for this and we aren't going to give it up anytime soon. If he really is alive then we will fight him off. But we won't give this up!"

"Just come stay at our house! Please, just for the night!"

Sondra just sighed and walked back across the street and climbed the front steps and went inside, she looked back at Laurie before closing the door and locking it. Laurie punched the hood of her truck, climbed in and sped off. Sondra watched from the window in the living room. She let the curtain breeze down and across in front of the window as she turned and walked down the hallway and into the kitchen where she found Roger fixing the light above the stove. She didn't notice the white Halloween mask looking in through the side window that was beside the garage.

"That poor girl, Roger" Sondra spoke up. "She's driving herself insane".

Roger glanced at his wife and shrugged. Roger met Laurie the first day they arrived in Haddonfield, she told them everything straight away and filled them in on the dark history of the house. How three people died in here. One of them being Lindsey Wallace and Lonnie Elam and of course Judith Myers. "It's not our job to worry about her, okay? We have a life to set up here".

"I know. But she's been through so much" Sondra explained. "Imagine your friends being killed by some psycho with a knife. It's just not okay".

Sondra of course wanted to tell Roger that Michael Myers had apparently survived the fire a year ago. But she didn't say anything. She didn't want to upset him or make him nervous anymore, kids were already putting up signs on the front lawn. Sondra turned and looked at the window (nobody was there) and smiled at the paint job on the garage. She was a fan of the light blue tone that they applied to the house.

Laurie drove across town, her phone was up against her ear as she drove - she was on the phone to the Sheriff. She begged that the house be guarded for the night, and he agreed seeing as they refused to leave. Laurie prayed Michael wouldn't return home but with the house now reconstructed he'd most likely come straight back. Laurie knew that once the bloodbath began he'd be easy to track down, he'd be coming straight back to his childhood home.
