Deputy Logan arrived shortly after the phone call was placed by Leigh Brackett. Accompanying him on his ride was his riot shotgun. He parked in the driveway of the Nelson house and climbed out and grabbed his gun and lifted it into his arms and followed the pathway up to the front door. He knocked loudly and his head snapped to the side when he saw a curtain breeze shut, he frowned and then looked back at the door when it opened to reveal Laurie Strode standing there with her knife in her hand.
She stepped to the side so he could come in, she looked outside and scanned the street before closing the door and locking it again. Another flash of light lit up outside which was followed by a loud bang that echoed across Haddonfield. The power went out and they looked up. Laurie gasped a little at the sudden outage then looked out the window and saw the darkness swallow the street. She stepped back and turned to face Deputy Logan.
"Thank you for coming" she said.
"Let's kill this son of a bitch" he replied coldly and Laurie nodded.
Karen came into the room and looked at her mother. Tommy and Leigh followed behind her. "We need candles, do you have any?"
Karen nodded. "In the dinning room, I'll go get some".
Karen left and went into the next room. The others parted and went into seperate sections of the house while Laurie remained at the front door, she rested her back against it and then slid down and rested her chin on her arms that were crossed over her knees. She sighed and then tilted her head back and gently touched it against the wooden door. She whispered to herself; "what am I gonna do?"
Karen came back around the corner but stopped and stepped back when she saw her mother. She looked exhausted. She was trying to process the world and what had been going on. She had been through so much. Karen walked closer and Laurie looked up.
"Mom?"
Laurie smiled softly.
"Are you okay?"
Laurie nodded. "Yes, I'm fine. I'm just tired".
Karen gave her a weak smile. Karen walked into the kitchen and lit them and placed them around the room. The glow wasn't much but it provided them with enough light, the added flashes of lightning made it easier for them.
"Deputy Pierce isn't too far away" commented Deputy Logan as he pulled a chair into the room and placed it near the door. Laurie stood up. Logan loaded his shotgun and sat down and placed it on his lap and faced the front door. Brackett walked into the room.
"I'm going out to meet the troopers. Stay here, keep the doors locked and I won't be long".
Brackett unlocked it and stepped out then Laurie closed it behind him and turned the lock back over. Laurie turned and looked around. Tommy was standing next to Karen near the entrance to the kitchen. They followed Laurie in and Logan set himself up and began watching the door. Tommy got around to making sure the back door was secured.
"Laurie" Tommy commented. "Go upstairs and have a rest. You need it".
"I can't", said Laurie as she walked across the kitchen and into the living room. She double checked the locks. "Not until I know everyone is safe here".
"We're safe. Please, mom. Go upstairs and rest" Karen demanded and Laurie nodded, grabbed her revolver and made sure it was loaded before pulling herself up the stairs.
Her eyes fell heavy from the moment she hit the pillow and Karen followed up soon after and followed her into the bedroom and closed the door, Karen sat on the opposite side of the bed and glanced back at her mother then curled herself up and tried to rest as well. She prayed this would all be over soon.
A violent crack of thunder whipped across the night sky outside and made the windows on the house rattle. Outside in neighbouring yards dogs could be heard barking loudly from the sudden explosive sound. Karen's eyes shot open for a moment as she looked over her shoulder at the window as a pelt of rain cracked against it before many others joined. The rain got heavier and heavier.
Tommy was standing at the back door looking out into the yard as the rain began crashing down, the sound of the water striking the roof of the house filled the room with so much noise he couldn't hear anything else around him. The candle in the room remained lit and he looked around but remained focused on the yard. He looked over his shoulder once more at the island and looked at the lonesome Halloween mask, he walked towards it and scooped it up. The fire damage on the side was horrific and he could make out chunks of skin that were now glued to the mask. He looked down at it before balling it up and chucking it back down onto the bench before turning his attention to the right hand side of the room as one of the candles went out. He frowned and walked towards it slowly.
A breeze was gently sweeping sideways across the room and blowing out each candle where they stood lined up. He grabbed the lighter from the counter and walked towards the candles. He stood still and looked at the candle and frowned before lifting his head and looking ahead. He extended the lighter and flicked it over so a small flame was lifted from the head of the device. The glow caused his eyes to widen as an unmasked Michael Myers was standing in the darkness looking into his eyes.
Tommy didn't have a chance to scream.
Michael reached out and clamped his hands on the sides of Tommy's head and instantly began squeezing as hard as possibly while pushing Tommy back across the room where he dropped to his knees. But Michael didn't allow him to lower himself, instead he forced him upwards into the air and squeezed. Tommy's eyes were glued open and locked on Michael who was looking at him as he stripped the life from him. Blood was rolling down Tommy's face and down his cheeks. Michael began to move his fingers so his thumbs were pushing down on his eyes. A cracking sound could be heard and then Tommy's eyeballs exploded and sent blood spraying up as blood poured him his parted lips but not a sound escaped. Tommy went limp in his hands and dangled as Michael looked at his work.
Tommy was thrown onto the lounge and Michael turned his head and looked at the kitchen bench where his mask was. He walked over, reached down and grabbed it and looked it then slid it over onto his head and then turned his attention to the doorway that went out into the main hall as as another crack of thunder made the house rattle which was followed by a flash of lightning.
Karen shot up from her short slumber as the thunder banged across the night sky. Rain was still pelting the window furiously. She turned and looked at the glass panel, rain was rolling down it. She looked down at Laurie and noticed she was gone. She frowned and got up from the bed and walked across the room and opened the door and stepped out into the dark hallway. She slid her arms along the wall as she walked to guide herself. She got to the stairs and slowly walked down.
Behind her she heard a thump and she turned back with a quick glance but still walked down. The landing was dark, she couldn't see a thing. She could just make out the lonesome chair that had been abandoned at the front door. She frowned.
"Deputy Logan?" Karen called out.
The closet door beside her creaked and she turned her head and looked up as it swayed open to reveal Tommy's body that was pinned to the wooden door. Karen released a powerful scream and covered her mouth as she backed away. Lines of blood were running down his chest and dripping onto the floor and that's when Karen noticed that he had been slit open from stomach to neck, his insides now on the outside. She turned her head to the left and moved across the room but tripped over the chair and hit the floor with a heavy thud. She lifted her head and that's when she saw Deputy Logan looking back at her, mouth parted and eyes wide and bloodshot.
She screamed again and stood up and moved towards the stairs. She backed herself up a few steps and cried out for her mother. Laurie came running down the stairs and stopped behind her and looked at the closet and saw Tommy.
"Oh, god. Tommy, no!" Laurie cried out.
Stepping into the room from the kitchen holding a kitchen knife was The Shape. He turned his head and looked up at the stairs and looked at Laurie who tensed up. Karen backed up and forced her mother to start backing up the stairs as The Shape continued to glare at them from where he stood. The two moved quicker and that's when he turned and began walking towards the stairs. Karen let out a cry and Laurie grabbed her, turned and began moving up the stairs as fast as she could.
