The cafeteria was swarmed as Cassie and Jas stumbled through the crowded area. Careening past their peers and trying not to get themselves or their sandwiches squished in the process.
It had been a long day and already dozens of people had looked and smiled in Jas's direction. At first, she had freaked and nearly had a panic attack as to why people were staring at her so much and muttering behind her back.
But when a notification pinged on her iphone and she swiped up, she remembered how Maddy had chosen to upload something for her. Jas had chosen purposefully not to look at her phone from the thought of it, but still the streams of notifications that lined the page of her phone, consisting of likes, comments and retweets, had spread a bright, pink blush across her cheeks as she shoved it back onto her lunch tray.
"Thank you." A loud sigh left Cassie's lips bringing Jas back to reality as she finally finished paying and headed towards their usual table.
Jas followed as Cassie walked through the canteen her eyes wandering over towards a familiar face. "Have you spoken to Kat since the weekend?" Cassie muttered under her breath as they passed the sleek-haired girl at the check-out. Kat hadn't spoken to any of them since that video had been uploaded. And besides the brief strangeness in her attitude, Jas had no idea what was wrong with her.
Besides the obvious dislike she held for herself.
"No." Jas declared. "She hasn't spoken to me since Mckay's party."
"She's been off ever since that video was released." The blonde seemed to falter for a second, deciding whether or not to say anything, before continuing. "Do you think it was her?" She whispered under her breath, curiously as they passed a group of guys all glancing in their direction.
Jas gave Cassie a look trying to disregard the glances. "I haven't seen it." She said. In truth, she had heard about what had occurred; the sex tape and the rumors that had spread alongside it. But she had not seen the video.
"Trent sent it to the whole school." Cassie placed her plastic tray down as they reached the table, intently looking at the curly-haired brunette in thought. "Did you notget it?" She frowned.
Jas didn't remember ever receiving a video, especially one from Trent that involved Kat or some girl getting, as Maddy had put it, "banged from behind." She swallowed, not sure whether she was relieved or potentially disheartened that she didn't account for the people who'd received it.
