This morning was... eventful, like every other morning.
Generally every second in my house was eventful.
My family wasn't the biggest around; it consisted of my parents, my elder brother, my little sister and me, oh and also 24/7 of Aiden.
Yes, Aiden.
We were all at the kitchen counter sipping beverages and chatting excitedly. My house always had this buzz of happiness, it'd been around since I was a kid, maybe because my parents were clowns, or my brother had a good sense of humor, or Aiden was actually funny, or because I was downright sarcastic or my sister was just... you know adorable, but my family had always been lively.
I wasn't complaining though, I was well aware that some people's families were as dry as desserts, take Aiden's for example.
I stared at the boy across from me.
Curse his stupid dimples.
He threw his head back and laughed hard at something my mum said. His laughter was... delightful– I'd never admit it though. His pearly white teeth were on full display, the idiot looked like he was in a toothpaste commercial.
Somehow, he felt my eyes on him and stopped laughing, it was too late for me to turn away so I waited till our eyes met.
He searched my face quizzically before lifting a brow. I could practically hear him making a cocky remark, I rolled my eyes all the same and went back to my cappuccino.
The door bell rang and Ella yelped, getting off her stool she dashed to the door screaming, "I got it! I got it!"
I swear she is a human dog.
"Don't open the door for strangers Ella." Mike warned from the living room.
Over protective brother...
I knew for sure that it wasn't a stranger as soon as I heard the seven year old yell, "Tatty!"
"Hi there Ella, looking cute." I heard Tatiana's voice from the living room.
Of course she was looking cute, Ella was in a pink top with a unicorn on it and a pink tutu at ten in the morning!
There was a lot of shuffling around until Tatiana came into view with Ella shuffling behind her.
She looked good as always, donned in a fair pink summer dress and a white transparent net jacket.
My eyes immediately flew to Mike, he was staring at Tatiana, no doubt drooling. Mike had a crush on my best friend, she didn't like him back at all. He knew, she knew but he still tried to get her to like him.
"Hey Mr. and Mrs. C." Tatiana greeted, throwing him a sweet smile.
"Hey kiddo, how are you?" My dad asked, motioning his cup of coffee towards her.
"I'm good."
"That's great." My mum responded.
"Hey guys." She greeted the rest of us.
A series of hi's passed the table.
A movement caught my eye and I watched as Mike begged Aiden for something. Aiden looked like he was being troubled but nodded anyways making Mike smile in victory.
Tatiana was making her way over to the free stool beside me when Mike yelled, "Hey Tat, there's a free stool here."
True to his words there was, Aiden was out of the chair.
"But isn't that Aiden's chair?" Tatiana stated sweetly, for someone who didn't like my brother she did speak pretty nicely.
I would have said something along the lines of, "I told you I don't like yo ass, punk."
