Scrolling on my phone aimlessly, I remember tomorrow is my coffee date with a girl I matched on Sinder.

The thought hit my head for sure but I shake it away with a long sigh focussing on my phone and scrolling again because somewhere I know this will not gonna work.

You must be wondering that if I already know that this is not going to work then why I am still going on a date? Well, it is 2021, the good old days of our childhood has long gone.

Now, we find ourselves alone even when we are sitting in large group of friends and laughing on their jokes. The emptiness in our life is like still water in a pond. If you throw a stone, then some little ripples will form in water for sure but soon it will become still again like it was, means we may feel a little bit thrilled meeting our friends, partying with them but then this emptiness comes back and settles in our heart like it was never gone.

This forever boredom consumes on our soul and therefore we all search for an amusement to divert our minds. Don't get me wrong. I don't take advantage of any girl. I just talk to them like a friend would. Because sometimes it becomes easy to let our thoughts out in front of a stranger than in front of person whom we know.

I just talk to them for few hours, spend my time and in all this time we become good friends till our date ends and we again become an unknown stranger bumped in a crowd to each other.

At last everyone does something to cure their emptiness. Some overwork themselves, so some spend their whole time watching web series, some reading those romantic novels which may never come true and some listening to sad songs in the memories of their love story which stayed uncompleted.

Going on dates also becomes a good excuse for me to divert the conversation whenever mumma asks, "When will you marry?"

Now, you may ask, what if I ever fall in love with a stranger on these coffee dates? So, I must tell you that I have told you about those people who listen to sad songs in the memories of their incomplete love. Haven't I? So, let me tell you one more thing. I am also one of those and we, those who have an uncompleted love story. Our eyes are always searching for that one person who started this love story to complete it until the end of our life. So, for us falling in love with another person is not that easy.

Now, let me sleep. I have a date to attend tomorrow.

The sun is still there, hanging in the sky. It hasn't started sinking yet because it's only 5:00PM. But it will be 6:00 until I reach the cafe where I have my date.

Now, I must tell you one thing whether we are serious or not about our date. But we boys like to dress up neatly for our dates. Until we are satisfied that people under 1 km of area can smell our Deo. And our scent won't kill our date by burning her nostrils. We won't stop spraying the perfume. Then after the date, we don't shower for 2 days for the least because our deo should have a use.

Setting my hair perfectly, I look at myself in the mirror. White shirt, blue jeans, black glasses, I am looking damn good! Now I am ready to rock it.

I reached the cafe and texted her," Where are you?"

"Oh! I am there. Can you please save a table for us?" She replies.

"Yeah! Sure. By the way, how would I recognize you?" I asked.

Though we met on sinder. But I actually never saw her because she has sunflowers in her dp and some poetries.

But one day she messaged me. And I talked with her and liked her personality. And we decided to meet on a date. Because I am not that serious about this date. So, I wouldn't have any problem. If she comes out as an Angel Priya(Slang for Fake Profiles) . Because all I want to do is spend my time with a stranger as a friend.

"Don't worry, You may have never seen me. But I have seen you. So you will recognize me." She replies

"Okay sure!" I texts back.

I start reading the menu until she arrives. After few minutes someone taps me lightly on my shoulder and I move my head back to the person.

"Hi! How are you?" A really sweet voice says to me with a hint of nervousness and some sunflowers in her hands.

Her face is so simple just as her clothes and there is probably no make up but just a little bit of pink lip gloss on her lips and eye liner on her eyes. Still her smile is so bright and beautiful that it makes her look gorgeous.

"Sit" I say to her, and she nervously sits in front of me. She fiddles with her fingers perhaps wants to say something to me.

"Do you want to say something to me?" I ask.

"No! No, nothing special" She immediately responds.

Then she lowers her eyes and scratching the table in front of her, forwards the sunflowers in her hands towards me. And I wonder if the the reddish hue of drowning sun makes her cheeks look pinkish or is she blushing?

Overall, I like her polite gesture. I take flowers from her hands with a smile.

"Thank you very much." I gratefully say to her.

"Well... This is my first time coming to a date. I have never done these kinds of things. So, I didn't know if we should bring flowers on first date or not. But I thought it will not look good if I didn't bring something. So, I brought some flowers. I hope you don't mind." She says to me with an apologetic look like she is asking, if she has done a mistake bringing flowers.

To be continued...
