RIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG
I twisted my head in the direction of the noise, the little red clock hands dutifully pointed at the numbers 6 and 12. I smiled, and reached over and pressing the little button on the top of the alarm, be
That's more like it. I quickly hoist myself up and out of bed. Abandoning the heavenly king sized mattress, I pull on my striped dressing gown and head down stairs."Good morning, Master Bruce!" I hear a voice welcome me. I turn and see my my favourite person sizzling bacon on a pan. He looks up from the pan, smiling widely.
"Morning, Alfred" I reply cheerfully.
"How did you sleep, sir?" Alfred asks
"Not too bad. Apart from the 2 am phone call last night, I'm okay."
Alfred nods sympathetically, "Ahh, yes. I'm afraid it was a call for you. But I never got a name or a call-back number, because they hung up almost immediately."
"Oh." I look down into my steaming mug of coffee, "It could probably just be one of my agents in New York or something."
"Perhaps." Alfred replies with a smile, still poking around at the bacon in the pan. I ignore Alfred, instead I look over to the news telecaster which has a face of concern (as usual).
"There's been a breach in a warehouse and a dangerous radioactive substance is at risk of being exposed to the public. Scientists say, if exposed could lead to an outbreak of new viruses and cause almost certain death. On other news-" I click the red rubbery off button on the black remote. That's enough for now. I turn around to see Alfred holding up breakfast, canadian waffles. The sweet doughy waffle sitting underneath the crispy bacon lathered in glistening maple syrup.
"Thanks Alfred," I grunt and take it from his hands, "but, it's gonna have to be on-the-go"
"I understand, sir." Alfred nods and escorts me to the batmobile, handing me a brown paper bag. "Inside are spare oxygen masks, zip-lock bags for evidence and a suit for outfit change."
"Outfit change?" I look up at Alfred and watch as he slowly nods and hands me some more paper bags. Usually, I just go around in my Batsuit, I don't see a need for outfit change. Batman keeps everyone in line, Bruce Wayne is just another rich celebrity. No one listens to rich celebrities, everyone listens to Batman. They all live in fear of Gotham and it's villains, I am their only savior.
"Outfit changes are quite important, Master Bruce. For example, if you ever need to blend in or get involved with society. Or perhaps, in the opportunity a stakeout. This is mandatory, you must take the bags." I nod and shove what seems like hundreds of bags in the boot. I look back to my loyal butler and only friend, as he flicks the dust off my batsuit.
"Well, I'll see you later Master Bruce! Goodluck!" My Butler exclaims confidently as he closes my car door and opens the garage door.
"Thank you, Alfred." I smile for a few seconds then return my focus to the steering wheel as the batmobile shoots out from the underground tunnel, I watch through the rear-view mirror as Alfred gets further and further away, shrinking into the distance.
