Friday 8:34 PM, At Grand Central Hallway.

Ananya placed her empty glass aside and began dabbing at his suit with a tissue. "I'm genuinely sorry, I didn't do it on purpose."

Dev sucked in a breath as he recognized her voice.

ANANYA.

He managed to nod in reassurance as she kept apologizing over and over.

"I'm really sorry. Look, I didn't do this on purpose. You just appeared out of nowhere," she rubbed her nape awkwardly.

"It's okay. I'll manage. It's just a suit," he chuckled nervously.

"Seriously, you're not mad like one of those action movie heroes?" She raised her brows, trying to lighten the mood.

"You ruined my 10 lakh suit, types?" she mimicked a certain hero.

He shook his head. "No, I'm not angry like an action hero, but you did spill your juice."

Ananya smiled. "I can get another one. It was just orange juice."

Dev reciprocated her smile. "You're here at this party, drinking orange juice?"

Ananya smiled awkwardly. "Yeah, it's a bit awkward, but I don't like hard drinks."

"There's nothing awkward about it. You have your own preferences, and that's pretty cool," he said, flashing a little smile.

Ananya nodded. "Thanks, and once again, I'm really sorry."

"We better forget about it."

He watched her retreating figure as she disappeared into the crowd.

The party grew tense as the host began announcing the winner of the businessman of The Year Award.

"The Global Business Award of the Year goes to, as usual, none other than Mr. Dev Joshi!"

"Please, sir, come to the stage."

Ray angrily tightened his fist as everyone clapped, including Ananya, who was amazed to learn who Dev Joshi was.

"So, he's Dev Joshi. Such a capable person with zero ego," she sighed in amazement.

"Why don't you go on stage and congratulate him? Grab the mic and shower him with praise. That's the one you were asking about," Ray grunted.

Dev took the mic. "Thank you so much for this honor. I want to thank my entire organization for pushing me beyond my limits so I could achieve greater heights. And my mom, who always wishes the best for me. Because of her, I'm here today. Thank you once again."

---

Ray approached Dev as he came down from the stage. "Congratulations, you won once again."

He stuffed his hands inside his pockets arrogantly.

Dev put his hand on Ray's shoulder. "Why do you always challenge me, Ray? How many times have I told you to try something new? Do you like losing repeatedly? And yeah, once again, stop challenging me."
