One day as I was cleaning my backyard, two little girl came up to me and one of them ask, Afo? GOD doesn't rest in the midst of working, right? 😊 I, immediately replied yes. Contented, she look at her friend and said, see I told you and they left. Earlier I saw them in a corner. I'm not sure what they were doing but I think they were working together on something and the other friend must have end up resting. Though an adult, I had to recollect my thoughts and ponder on the simple question. How diligent are we with our works? Are we more focused on resting than on work? If we look at the beginning of Genesis, we see how creation took place. GOD worked day and night. Some of us will be skeptical about the comparison I'm bringing here but there's no better example than this. GOD did not rest until the seventh day. The creation took place continuously for straight 6 days without a break. And yes!! He worked diligently. GOD could have just created everything just at a go. That's how powerful our GOD is, but HE did not choose the easy way. He chose to knit everything in perfect order. To add more, the seventh day was not the end of his work though. He didn't just create the earth and everything else on it and left things as it is. He continued watching over HIS creation with tender care. To be precise, Adam and Eve is not in the picture yet. Many of us has this misconception that Adam and Eve are the first human to walk on earth but they are not. "GOD created male and female," says Genesis 1:27. Genesis 1:26-28 speaks of how GOD created man and were blessed to be fruitful and multiply. The man is given the authority to rule over every living things that moves on earth, but the man mentioned is not Adam. All these took place before the seventh day. Adam comes in the picture only after the seventh day. What I want to imply here is that, the best should come only after we rest. We mustn't let a little success be the end of us. GOD left us an example of working diligently from the very beginning. (Unlike, the other man made in the image of Himself, Adam was created differently. GOD himself breathed in the nostril of Adam. Being the descendants of Adam and Eve, we have the privilege to live in the presence of GOD. Not just anyone can be in the presence of GOD.) They were only given the authority and free will to make their own choices. But for Adam, he was handpick and placed in the midst of Eden garden. I feel that our life is very short to be resting and merry making. We must always be toiling to bring out the best of us. Rest a while, work even more harder.
