I go up to the stage, back facing the audience. The woman whispers into my ear.
"The ribbon I am about to give you is not red or blue. It's purple."
"What-?" I'm startled.
"Purple."
"But if I'm not a hider or a seeker what am I?"
"Purple.
"Yes, but what does a purple ribbon mean?"
"Game master. There are only 8 others in the entire world. I am one of them."
"What does a game master do?"
"Simple. Assign peoples roles. Once you're a fully experienced game master you'll develop the ability to change hiders to seekers and vise versa."
"How do I become fully experienced?"
"We must discuss later. We have to get along with the ceremony."She reaches into her parcel and takes out a purple ribbon. She wasn't lying.
"Rodriguez, Angelica."
Angelica hesitantly goes up to the woman. I silently observe and notice the woman reaching into her parcel and handing Angelica a ribbon. They exchange a few words and Angelica goes off the stage heading towards me.
"Fitzman, George" I hear the woman in the distance.
"Come on. We should get going." I tell Angelica.
"Yeah." She replies.
"Wanna go to Starbucks?" I ask.
"Sure." After walking to the nearest Starbucks, Angelica and I traded phone numbers.
