Euphoria.

That’s what Dark felt when he entered that door where his mate is currently confined. He can smell her scent all over the room. Goddess, she smells delightful. He cannot even explain it. He felt like his entire body relaxes and so his mind. For some reason, it sounded quiet, peaceful and full of solemnity. He gulped hard and closes his eyes as he fills his lungs with her scent. The heaviness in his chest is slowly fading as he continues sniffing in the air while he presses his back against the door.

“You came!” He heard Jieun said, making him open his eyes. There he saw her beautiful face and gorgeous smile as she stands in front of him. She has always been so fond of white long dresses that hugs her small figure. But he didn’t miss the untangled corset around her waist, showing that beautifully carved necklace that she got on her 16th birthday from her foster parents. He tilted his head as he stares at her. She looked a little different from the last time he saw her.

But he can tell she went through so much. Her eyes looked pinkish because of too much crying but that didn’t make her less any beautiful. Her cheeks are also blushing so much he can tell it from a distance. But those eyes of hers that are usually colored brown has streaks of orange in them. Her hair has these brushes of orange in them too. Her natures are finally surging in her body, and she doesn’t feel the same too. She doesn’t feel like his Healer. She feels more like his—mate.

Dark lifted his lips for a small smile as he continued staring at her. And then in just a moment, everything apart from that beautiful woman smiling at him doesn’t make sense anymore. The whole room feels like a solitary place where everything resonance peace. The herbs and teas that she has been making in this small, cramped room is what makes her who she is. The Healer who heals others more than herself. Even though she is under a restricted confinement, her love for healing creatures still linger in her soul.

She gave him a timid smile and looks around her room. “I’m sorry. I had—to, uh, do something to help for the war that The Seven is preparing for.” She said, pressing her stomach. “I made a lot of therapeutic teas for the young pups to somehow ease their anxieties if they heard the bombing or anything? I can make them sleep too for them not to remember anything about it.” She said and smiled, sounding like she’s panting because of that pain in her stomach.

Dark didn’t answer and remained staring at her. He never thought he would see her this beautiful in his whole life. To be fair, he is already admiring her way before when he still looks at her as his Healer—way before he became King.

“Are you okay? Does something hurt?” She asked, tilting her head as she observes him. How can she even ask that when she is the one who is in so much pain? She still cares about the healing of other creatures more than her own. Goddess Luna. She is not only beautiful but also has a pure heart. How can he not admire her more?

Her passion when it comes to healing werewolves is what makes her special. Her humanitarian works to create camaraderie with the human population is something that he admires about her too. But that admiration is growing inside him in an insane amount of dangerous feelings and he is afraid that he might choose this healer through destiny rather than the soldier that he fell in love with.
