Celestial Family Reunion

"Hello, Wife," God said as he appeared next to Lucifer.

"Husband," she said with clear hate.  "How did you manage this?"

"Well let's just say my children worked together to find a solution," he said. 

"You see, Mother, I sent Gabriel to let Dad know of your plan for Chloe and my children.  Apparently, you never really had control over him.  He was just letting you think you did.  All I had to do was will his power back to him and here we all are for a celestial family reunion!

"Dad, next time you have a plan, could you at least share some important pieces?  This gets a little too interesting at times," Lucifer whispered.

God smiled at his light bringer who was on his left.  Amenadiel had moved to flank his right side and his other children fell in behind.  The creatures that the Goddess had brought were acting confused and making a high pitched noises but seemed to be frozen in place.  

"Wife, I was trying to make you happy but apparently that was not enough.  Too many have been hurt.  Our children have died because of all of this selfishness.  Humans have died who were not meant to be gone."

With that, Amenadiel and Lucifer both took in a deep breath.  Remy and Dan should be here.

"My world is one of choices and you made choices for it that altered the designed course.  I had hoped that my joining you in your universe would show you how very much I care about you and our world together but maybe too much time had passed."

"Too much time had passed long, long ago, Husband," she answered with hate flaring in her eyes.  "Now you have my children stand against me again!"

"Mom, I do not want to stand against you but I cannot stand with you for this.  It is wrong and not because Father says so but because I feel that it is.  I see what was done to Lucifer and know we all turned our backs on him for so long that we almost lost him.  Now I have my little brother back and the good in him is something you couldn't get rid of.  We have lives here.  Your grandsons that are part of you will all be here."

"You were never meant to breed with these filthy creatures!"

Lucifer smirked at his mother but his light did not dim.  The thought of Chloe and his children made it brighter and stronger.

"This is his fault for making a human for you, Lucifer.  My sweet boy, he manipulated you with her and now you cannot even see how he has kept you down bound to them instead of free.  He didn't even give you his full power.  He wanted you to remain less than he is."

"Mum, what you have never understood is I would give up my life for her over and over and over.  I love her and that is the greatest gift I have ever been given next to my children.  You probably can never understand that but I understand the "manipulation" as you like to call it.  Dad put a path to freedom for me.  One where I could not stay in a comfortable place but had to reevaluate who I wanted to be and who others thought I should be.  Free will and all that.  I want to be her husband and the father of her children.  I want to be her protector, her lover and give her everything her heart desires.  And I want to be the light bringer I was made to be."

God looked at his son and smiled at him with great pride and admiration.  

"But he made you fight, Lucifer!  Your human died in that battle when he could have just named you as his replacement. "

Lucifer smiled at her and then looked at his father.  "That was rather unfair because he knew I would be climbing a steep mountain toward approval.  But what that showed me was that I loved Chloe.  That I would choose her and my love for her over life itself.  I am worthy.  I am not just Lucifer the young rebel but Lucifer the light bringer.  And I have found that I have a great respect for Father and all that he handles.   It is not easy.  I still think the dodo should be brought back but it is what it is, I suppose."
