the few sunbeams already out tinted the sky with a beautiful light orange tone, a chilly morning breeze hitting the trees, the sun slowly becoming visible in the horizon. it was a memorable sight to look at, what a shame you were barely awake to see it.
"Y/N! OPEN THE DOOR!" yelled the green haired girl in front of your room's door, banging on it. she's been there for quite a while now, finally earning a low grunt from you in response. that faint flash of hope made her bang harder on the door.the door slowly creaked open, and there you stood, messy hair, still on your sleeping clothes and the biggest frown.
"what do you possibly want at this hour?" you asked rubbing your eyes and leaning on the doorframe.
"it's freaking 10."
sleeping in was basically not a thing anymore ever since you joined this school, especially when, everyday, you had someone trying to tear the room's door apart with their fists.
"get up and get dressed, we're training with the first years today. it's also your chance to meet them." maki said, smiling.
"it's too early... let's do it in the afternoon. and I never said I wanted to meet them, though?" you deadpanned, glaring at your friend for disturbing your precious rest.
"i did. now hurry up and meet us at the grounds in 20. I'll come for you if you go back to sleep." she said, walking away with a proud smile.
slowly turning around, you mumbled incoherent curses to yourself while going back inside your room and closing the door behind you.
you had recently come back from "vacation". you and your parents went to america to meet your mother's side of the family. since you left soon as you finished your first year at jujutsu tech, you didn't really get a chance to meet the kouhais maki talks so much about.
quickly taking a shower, you got dressed and stepped out of your dorm, locking the door. as maki had previously stated, you were going to train with the first years today, so you decided to at least have breakfast first.
you made your way to the cafeteria and got yourself some food, but heading towards the table you noticed someone was already there. they apparently didn't fail to notice your presence as well.
"can i sit here?" you questioned, pointing to the seat across from them.
"of course."
you began to eat, cautiously studying the boy sitting in front of you with nothing but a cup of water in his hands. he had spiky raven hair, pale skin and dull, dark blue eyes.
"you must be one of the first years." you broke the silence, causing him to look up at you. his eyes slightly widened for a brief moment.
"yes, i'm fushiguro megumi. what about you?" he questioned, sipping on his water.
"l/n y/n." you told him, proceeding to eat.
"oh, i've heard about you from zenin-senpai before. it's nice to meet you, l/n-senpai." he politely responded with a slight bow of his head, his expression never changed, though he did try to hide the curiosity that awoke in his eyes.
"likewise." you said.
a rather awkward silence remained for a while until he spoke up again.
"so, zenin-senpai mentioned of you being away on a trip." he attempted starting a conversation.
"yeah, america." you explained, finishing your food.
"i see,"
looking over at the clock, you realized it's been half an hour since you last talked to maki. maybe you'd already get scolded for being "late" by now.
