"Kook! What're you doing here?" you ask, finally noticing the bouquet of flowers that rested in his hands.
He quickly hid them behind his back, shaking his head.
"I dunno, just wanted to pop by and say hello," he mutters, and you stare at him confusedly.
Were the two of you not on good terms? Why was he so awkward?
"While we were waiting for you, Jungkook and I really hit it off. Isn't that right, kook?" Nora asks teasingly, wrapping her arm around Jungkook's.
Jungkook gently shrugs her off, sending you an apologetic look. You then realize why Jungkook was acting so awkward, why Laila was glaring daggers at Nora, and why Nora was staring so adoringly at Jungkook.
"Oh, uh, congrats I guess," you say, attempting to sound excited but sounding pathetic and jealous.
You then head inside, slamming the door behind you. You headed straight for your room, slipping your shoes off before doing a belly-flop onto your mattress.
Technically, you had no right to be jealous- you were dating Namjoon, after all. But the two of you weren't exclusive, right? And Namjoon was already on a plane, half-way across the world- it's not like he'd notice if you also went out with Jungkook. Right?
You heard the front door slam again as hurried footsteps headed towards your door.
You were already mentally prepared as your bedroom door swung open, Nora running towards you.
"OhmygodY/NI'msosorryIdidn'tknowyouguysweredating-"
"Nora! You're talking really fast and not enunciating. I have no clue what you're saying," you interrupt, rolling your eyes at her behavior.
Nora took a deep breath, looking down as she restarted her apology.
"I'm so sorry, Y/N. He said he was just a friend, so I thought it'd be alright to flirt a bit. When Laila told me you guys were dating, I was so shocked- and horrified- of what I'd done. And how he'd gone along with it," she said, shaking her head with disgust.
The more you think about it, the angrier you get. Not at Nora, but at Jungkook. How could he flirt back? With your cousin, of all people!
"Y/N, this guy sounds awful. Flirting with someone even though you guys are exclusive? Break up with him," Nora advises.
You were too angry to think clearly- you pace around your room, trying to clear your head. Frustrated, you pause by your window, staring down at a tree.
When you finally calm down, you sigh and turn around.
"Well, we're not exclusive yet. So I don't think it'd be fair to get mad at him," you say, Nora's eyes widening in shock.
"I mean, Y/N, I respect your decision, but what the fuck? It says a lot about his character if he thinks flirting with the cousin of the girl he's seeing is an okay thing to do," Nora counters.
You pause, knowing she had a point.
"Yeah, well I've done questionable things too. We both know that," you say, daring her to object.
Instead, she looks away sadly, focusing on the potted plant by your door.
"Y/N, we've already talked about this. No more mentioning the Eliza thing," she says, shivering at the memory of what you'd done.
Instead of sharing her reaction, you smirked. What you had done to Eliza Grant in the eleventh grade was horrible, of course, but you didn't regret one bit of it. Especially not getting caught. You had ruined the girls life, yet here you were at Boston University thriving.
