oK here we go, 2nd part!

Heavy steps shook the ground as the large hellhound stepped forward. Its glowing red eyes stared hungrily at the small boy in front of it, and a thick string of slobber dripped from its mouth.

Burning tears slipped down Percy's panicked face. His arms shook and his legs wobbled, scared stiff. In his trembling hand, the bright red lollipop swayed dangerously, threatening to fall. He was terrified. He'd never had to face anything like this before - he had definitely seen some odd stuff in his short lifetime, but nothing was as scary as this.

Elsewhere, Sally rushed through the streets, looking for her son with worried yells. Though she gained some worried looks from strangers nearby, she didn't slow down. Unlike the people watching, she knew the danger Percy could have been in.

As she searched the roads, a disgusting smell slammed into her. Sally turned to see a small, dingy alleyway she would have overlooked, if it wasn't for the smell. Stepping in, Sally saw Percy, and let out a breath of relief. That is, until her eyes drifted farther back into the alleyway. Her breath caught in her throat, terrified of what would happen next. Percy was standing in front of a massive hellhound, much larger than anything Sally had ever seen before.

The hellhound made a move to step forward, not seeming to have noticed Sally. But as it did, just for a second, everything froze. There was a soft ocean breeze smelling of sand and salt, that wafted though the air, cutting through the stench of the hellhound. Sally blinked, breaking the spell that had seemed to been cast upon the alley. Just in front of her lay a small, bronze dagger that glinted dangerously in the dimly lit space. Her eyes widened in shock as she realized what it was, and who had sent it.

Percy whimpered once more, sniffling as he clutched the lollipop. Sally turned her attention back to the monster, mind whirring. Quickly realizing what she would have to do, Sally took a deep breath. Sally leaned forward, and the beast's eyes immedietly moved over to her, proving just how sharp its senses were. Sally froze under the beast's analyzing stare, waiting carefully for a chance.

She dived forwards. Her hands wrapped around the shining golden hilt. Light seemed to be emanating from the bronze blade, casting a bright shine into the otherwise gloomy alley. Sally scrambled to her feet, eyes full of both fear and a steely determination to save her son.

Growling, the hellhound lunged forward. Sally gripped the bejeweled hilt of the dagger and slashed at the monster, the sharp blade cutting through its snout. The hellhound whimpered loudly, swiping its paw at Sally and making contact. With a yelp, she stumbled backwards, falling to the floor. Percy cried out in fear, one hand holding the lollipop tightly to his chest and the other reaching out to his mother. His head hurt, he had no idea what was happening, and he didn't know how to help. Percy lurched forwards, tripping over his own feet as he started towards his mother.

"Momma," He called, his voice shaking in fear.

"Don't! Percy, stay back!" Sally pleaded desperately. She trembled as she carefully pulled herself upwards, willing herself not to fall again. The hellhound growled, and its muscles tensed. Noticing this, Sally knew it was preparing to strike again. She closed her eyes, praying to Poseidon to let her little baby be safe, even if it meant she had to die.

Sally brought the dagger out in front of her and held her breath, waiting for the beast to strike.
