Kalopsia: (n.): the delusion of things being more beautiful than they actually are.

"Can I kiss you?"

Grant's hand ran through his light hair, his light blue eyes stared at me, pleading for an answer. I froze, still in surprise at his actions.

"I really like you, Keira, and we've been on a couple of dates already," He trailed off, looking to the side, "I--uh--realized I haven't--uhm--kissed you on any of them, and I didn't do it last week, and I've been beating myself up for it." He laughed at himself for stuttering.

I haven't been aware of my feelings yet. I didn't know how to decipher which had been platonic and which had not been. Grant was an amazing guy towards me, he stuck around even when I pushed everyone away. He liked me, a lot. I loved the time we spent together, the dates were spectacular and there was no reason in the world that could justify any lack of feeling for him. I know he isn't a rebound, I dated a few guys after Atlas so my feelings should be pure,

Grant looked up at me again, "So can I-"

Fuck it.

l cut him off, stepping forward, and pressed my mouth onto his. My hand was placed onto his cheek, a smile ran my mouth as I felt his tenseness soften, his arms wrapping around my waist.

I broke out of the kiss-leaning back-though his arms stopped that action as they were still wrapped around me. My arms wrapped around his neck. He nuzzled his nose to my cheek, moving it closer towards my ear,

"I want you to be my girlfriend." He simply stated, his eyes darting to both of mine in search of an answer. His voice sounded rough in a whisper. I smiled at him in awe.

"I'd love to." I simply answered back.

Grant's eyes brightened, his smile extending. He hugged my waist tightly before leaning down and kissing me once again. His lips pressed onto mine, roaming my mouth with hungering fervor. His hand placed around the side of my neck, whilst the other wrapped my waist. This kiss was intensely passionate, truly solidifying his long wait for it.

We soon let out of the kiss, breathless as we looked at each other.

I gaped my mouth to speak, though a throat had been cleared behind us. Grant and I both turned to the end of the porch, where a familiar figure stood tall, a scowl placed on his porcelain face. My cheeks immediately heated.

"Can I go inside now?" My dad grumbled.

His hair had been longer than before, reaching to the back of his neck where he tied the copper locks into a bun. A beard was prominent around his scowling face. His light brown eyes pierced through Grant, causing his cheeks to redden. I heard him gulp.

"Dad." I let out, diverting his attention back to me were his features soon softened. He grinned at my acknowledgment, opening his arms wide for me to hug him. I accepted the offer and wrapped my arms under his in the embrace.

"Hey, kiddo," He nuzzled his chin on my head, placing a kiss, "I wanted to surprise you guys."
He grumbled once more, and I didn't need to look to know he was still glaring at Grant.

"I ended up getting a surprise too," Dad mumbled under his breath, I assumed I wasn't meant to hear it when his eyes widened at my glare.

I turned to my terrified boyfriend and walked over to him, interlocking my hand with his as I cleared my throat. His hands had been softer now, clammy almost. I pressed my lips to hold in that laughter.
