"i hate extra classes" Jaehyuk cried while walking out of the school with Jieun.

"hey you told me you craved for the sotteok-sotteok near my house right? wanna go grab that before dinner?"

"omg tell me you're paying for it ??" Jaehyuk winked.

"yeah yeah whatever.." Jieun rolled her eyes.

*ring ring

Jieun peeked at Jaehyuk's phone screen.

"Mom"

Jaehyuk sighed knowing the reason why his mom called him.

"it's okay, pick it up and go.. quick !! you don't wanna see your mom boiling right." Jieun pushed Jaehyuk's shoulder with both of her hands signing him to go back home.

Jaehyuk turns to face Jieun. he pouted, "thank you Jieun, for always understanding me."

"eyy no worries, now go !" Jaehyuk then smiled and ran to his home.

Jieun pulled her phone from her pocket and decided to walk home by herself but someone's voice stopped her.

"Jaehyuk's not coming? then go with me !"

"wh- what ...?"

"heyy i like sotteok-sotteok too !!" he slightly pouted.

"o-ouhhh..."

"well- if you're still uncomfortable with me it's okay.. i won't go with you." the boy looked down.

"n-no no !! it's okay, come with me !"

the two then walked to the sotteok-sotteok stall together. Hyunsuk walking a meter behind the girl. apparently, the session was awkward, very. awkward. none of them spoke.

it started to get dark and the only source of light through the walking path was the orange sun that is setting.

"WO-WOAHH MISS MOVE ASIDE !!" a man shouted.

"huh?"

Hyunsuk then pulled Jieun's body towards him. his hand wrapping the girl's waist while the girl's hand landed on his chest.

both staring at each other's face for seconds, in a very close distance. heart beating faster than ever.

Hyunsuk gulped down trying to look away, but he can't take his eyes off of her.

"OUCH.."

the two looked at the other side and saw a man on the floor with his bicycle lying on top of his leg. Jieun gasped after realizing what just happened, he pushed Hyunsuk away and ran towards the man.

"omg i'm so sorry are you okay ??" she apologized in worry.

the man groaned in pain trying to stand up. Hyunsuk quickly helped him. "no, you shouldn't be sorry to me.. it's my fault. you're not hurt right?"

"sir nothing happened to me, but your knee is bleeding ! i'll buy you some band aid can you wait-"

"ahh, i'm fine ! i'll handle this myself later. thank you so much for your concern young girl. luckily your boyfriend is fast enough to save you."

the two stand in shock. "i- we're not-"

"you're such a gentleman.. take care of your beautiful girl okay ?! don't hurt her." the man patted Hyunsuk's shoulder.

Hyunsuk blinked his eyes multiple times as his cheeks turns red.

"i'll get going now, take care lovebirds !" he cycled away.

the man left the two frozen for seconds.

"i... um.. i'm h-hungry ... y-yeahh let's eat !" Jieun chuckled awkwardly.

"i've told you i'll pay for it !!"

"i said IT'S OKAYYY"

"promise me that I AM THE ONE who will be paying for the next treat !" Jieun said, sticking up her pinky finger.

"bold of you to assume we'll be eating together again" Hyunsuk stated.

"i- wh-" Jieun sighed in disappointment.

he chuckled looking at the girl. "hey heyyy i'm just kidding !! i'll be eating with you everyday alright ?!"

"with ... Jaehyuk ?"

"why? you wanna dump Jaehyuk to eat with me all alone?" he smirked.

"n-no !! we'll be eating together yeah that's what i mean."

Hyunsuk smiled. "oh right, let's head to your home !"

"Junkyu's doing the gaming club today? it's still weekdays though.."

"who said i'm going to meet Junkyu today?" he looked at Jieun.

"so why are WE heading to my house?"

"i'm walking you home, obviously." Hyunsuk smiled.

"you don't have to ! i-"

"i have to ! it's dangerous for a girl to walk alone at night." he said sternly facing Jieun.

the girl nodded, looking down on her shoes. "i never knew he could act like this.." they then continued walking in silence.

"thank you for today Hyunsuk.. it was fun knowing you." Jieun smiled. she then turned towards her front door to walk away but Hyunsuk holds her wrist stopping her to do so.

Hyunsuk rubbed the back of his neck in awkward. "umm.. i wanna say sorry cause i raised my voice towards you, i was just worried.."

"oh no- it's fine.."

"mark the date today, it's our day 1 as a friend. goodnight, see you tomorrow." Hyunsuk shyly laughed.

Jieun chuckled. "i'll mark on my calendar later. goodnight, sweet dreams !"

"okay, i'll dream of you ! btw no goodnight kisses?"

"what?" she clearly heard what he said but she chose not to stand in silence cause that would be more awkward.

"you wanna hear that again or you wanna run into your house?" Hyunsuk smirked. Jieun gulped and hurriedly ran into her house.

the boy laughed a little "cutie." he said.
