Valentine's Day? That was four days away. We were in serious trouble.

"Where exactly are they going to attack?" John asked Nadia.

"The dance at the high school." she said. "Around eleven."

"That's an hour after it starts." I point out. "What's going to attack? Vampires?"

"Worse. An army of vamps and demons." she said.

"Oh shit!" John said. "How am I going to fight them all?"

"With my help." Nadia crossed her arms over her chest.

"And mine." I said.

He turns to me. "I'm not going to have you go head first into a battle."

"I'm in battles all the time, especially before I met you. I can handle myself. Besides I'm not going to let you get hurt. A mix of vampires and demons are dangerous. Like something you have never fought before, since it's so rare that they work together. I have fought them before. I know how to take them down."

"That's good and all but how are we supposed to get you in? For now I'm a student at that school so I get a free ticket to the dance." she said.

"I'll take her as my date." John said, reluctantly. For some reason he just didn't want me to fight.

"So then it's settled, we'll be prepared for the fight." I said.

"Cool. Now if you don't mind, I need to go get my car and check into a hotel room." Nadia said. "See you later."

She then left. Leaving me alone with John.

"Now why don't you want me to fight?" I asked him.

"It's not that so much as I don't want to see you get hurt." he said.

"So in other words, you don't want me to be something to worry about."

"No, Liz, that's not at all what I meant and you know it."

"Funny how it seems to be exactly what you meant." I crossed my arms over my chest.

He puts a hand on my shoulder and looks his deep brown/black eyes into my silver blue ones. "I don't want to lose you. I don't know how powerful this army is. If they're more powerful then we expect then they could very much send you to hell."

"But they won't. I'm faster and stronger than them. I'm one of the oldest vampires alive, John, you have to remember that I'm not as fragile as I appear to be."

He sighs. "I know."

"So this dance." I said, changing the subject before another arguement came up. "What's the dress code?"

"Formal." he said. "Which we can use to our advantage. Meaning you are a weapons house since you'll be wearing a dress."

"No crosses." I said quickly.

I was a Christian, both in my vampiric life and human one, but crosses affected me now. They were like sticking a flame onto the skin, not hurting at first but would start to burn later on.

"Of course." John nodded. "So what are you going to wear?"

He knew that I had a lot of clothing. Since I can't go out in daylight I have to do something during the day. Which means modeling for fun or trying to figure out the internet.

I gave him a secretive smile. "I'm not gonna tell you. It's a surprise."

"No fair!" he pouted.

"Life isn't fair now is it. If it was then I would be able to go out into the sunlight." I said.
