Time is a concept constructed by humans - used to measure duration, keep track of events, determine dates, and it's conformed by humans. It makes our daily life easier by rationalizing the incomprehensible continuity of life into numbers and calculations that one could decipher.

However, time itself is a abstruse topic that entails a plethora of complex studies and theories. It's easier for one to utilize their time to create memories, embark on adventures and imprint a difference on the world than to simply delve on the concept itself.

As perplexing as it sounds, there is a commonly known fact about time: it's constant, and it's ephemeral.

Time stops for no one, but it ends for everyone.

With the seemingly endless realm of possibilities shrouding this topic, people had come up with an abundance of ingenious ideas for it. A recurrent example would be queries about time travel.

The ability to travel anywhere in time: to the past or the future.

Obviously, it isn't as simple as it seems. To be able to tamper with an intangible yet enigmatic existence requires onerous effort and research, and this precarious endeavor comes with a risk. Time travel inevitably leads to an altered timeline, and who knows what'll occur when a timeline gets altered?

Then again, the world works in a mysterious way. For an arcane idea that many dreamt of achieving, a single person managed to win the lucky draw and experience it first-hand.

This person has zero achievement in their life. With adolescent days filled with oppression and fear that paved way to a mundane future, a fulfilling life is a decadence Takemichi Hanagaki wished to have.

Being 26 years old and working a boring job, he lives his life with his head held down as the people around him barrages him with criticism and demands. The only thing in his life that even comes close to an achievement is having a girlfriend; the mere thought of it made him want to go back to his middle school years. But even that didn't work out well for him, seeing as they broke up and just recently, Hinata Tachibana and her brother were found dead.

He sighed, "where did I go wrong?"

Prior to activating his unknown ability, Takemichi Hanagaki was on his way home from work. He stood on the edge of the train platform, brooding, when he was suddenly pushed onto the tracks.

As the train drew closer, he screwed his eyes shut, awaiting the imminent pain. Instead, he was engulfed in a brilliant light; the last thing he felt was the sensation of his hand being grasped.

Next thing he knows, he opened his eyes to the sight of his middle school friends. Dumbstruck, he found himself gawking as he rummaged through his belongings, finding a coin and an old flip phone. He walked to a mirror in what seemed to be a train station. The face gazing back at him was younger, with facial features akin to a teenager, hair bleached in yellow dye and a school uniform he was all too familiar with.

It was him 12 years ago.

The Mizo Middle gang were on their way to pick a fight with the gang from Shibuya Middle, one of them explained. Unbeknownst to them, this would ultimately lead to their defeat and the beginning of their lives as "slaves" for the Tokyo Manji Gang.

And so, this marks the beginning of Takemichi's journey.
