✧・゚: *✧・゚:*"𝐖𝐄 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄" asmodeus begged the girl as he latched onto her hand, the villagers hollers and screams could be heard approaching as they stood anxiously at the woods entrance.
"not without dorothy!" seraphina nearly all but cried to the man in front of her, time was shortening for them to make their escape and they both knew very well how being burnt at the stake was the worst way to go.
"we do not have time, they cannot hold the gates for much longer" if they started running then there was still a chance they could return to babylon and never have to look upon the town of salem ever again. "we must go, serah" the crack in his voice showing his commitment in leaving.
with one final glance to the torching lights of fire she and asmodeus took off. they had been outed for their ties to the devil only an hour prior. dorothy had left them enough time to run, and with the encouragement from the blonde girl, asmodeus had convinced seraphina to run.
"we're not going to make it" the boy panted as he pushed through the pain, branches and birds scraping the two as they tried to find their way to the exit. the hollers from the witch hunters getting closer and closer.
seraphina knew this was all her fault, it was because of her that asmodeus had even come to the mortal realm. if she had not begged and convinced him how fun it was, he would be safe in hell. "you must go" she cried as she halted her steps.
"what?" the boys british accent breaking through as he stopped not being able to feel her presence besides him. "run" he yelled as he grabbed onto her arm trying to bring her with him.
"you must tell my mother what has happened, you must escape" she cried into the open, not giving him time to argue she pressed a kiss to his shoulder before pushing him forward "i'll see you in the next life, go!"
leaving her that day may have been asmodeus' biggest regret, but he would do what made the girl happiest till the day his soul perished.
frock torn, hair dishevelled and slashes exposed. tears stained her pale cheeks as the flames of the newly lit torch made their way nearer. the whole town had gathered for the burning, which was originally planned to be a hanging. but the hunters learnt after their first attempt there was no way to kill what they thought was a witch without sending them back to where they had come from. hell.
