2 months later

Lorelai

Rory and I were currently on our way to Luke's when we suddenly heard yelling behind us.

"Lorelai! Rory! Sugars! Wait up!" I didn't even have to turn around to know who was calling, because there was only one person in our whole town calling people Sugar. Babette was running towards us with Miss Patty hot on her heels.

"Babette! Miss Patty! Slow down!" Rory called. "We stopped walking."

"What is it, you two?" I asked as they reached us while trying to catch their breaths. "Did something happen?"

"Oh no, sweetie," Miss Patty immediately assured. "We were just wondering when Luke's darling little daughter would be coming to Stars Hollow again. Sadly, we just missed her when she was here last weekend."

"Then why did you chase after us like you were being followed by the devil himself?" Rory asked incredulously.

"We've been meaning to ask you all week, but every time we saw you, we forgot. We're not getting any younger, you know," Babette explained matter-of-factly.

"Plus, running helps us keep in shape," Miss Patty added and struck a pose. Rory and I grinned at the eccentric woman.

"Of course. How silly of me to ask," Rory said. "April's actually meeting us for breakfast right now."

"Oh, how wonderful! We were actually meaning to go to Luke's ourselves," Miss Patty said looking pleased. "Then we're gonna get to see her this time."

"Definitely," I assured them and all four of us headed to the diner.

"Hello, my darling, my one true love, my everything," I called as I burst through the door. Luke looked at me with a shocked expression, but I ignored him and headed straight for the coffee machine. "Oh, how I've missed you."

"Will you get out of here. You know you're not allowed behind the counter." Luke came over and ushered me to a chair at the counter right next to the one Rory was already sitting at.

"I was two months ago," I argued. "And so was Rory."

"Okay, the next time I am about to find out whether or not I have another daughter, I'll let you go behind the counter again."

"Next time?" I shrieked.

"Which will be never," Luke clarified.

"Hey, no fair," I pouted. "You're a spoilsport!"

"Yeah, yeah," Luke chuckled. "A spoilsport who's also out of coffee."

"Please, please, please, tell me you're kidding!" I exclaimed incredulously as Rory gasped.

"I'm kidding," Luke admitted.

"You're sick." "You're a sadist." "You're a fiend." Rory and I accused.

Luke walked back over with the coffee pot. "You're pretty," I smiled and batted my eyelashes as he filled our cups. "Luke, will you marry me?" I straightened up in my seat and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Luke just shook his head but couldn't quite keep a light blush from spreading over his cheeks.

"Look at those two, Babette," Miss Patty gushed. "Just as cute and in love as they were all those years ago. Although now, they're not too stubborn to admit it."

"It just warms you heart now, doesn't it," Babette sounded like she was close to tears. I looked over at the two of them. They sat at their table watching Luke, Rory and me as if we were their favorite TV show. The only thing missing was popcorn.
