Chapter 5

STRENGTH

I was on the floor after everything went black the moment we opened the door of the underground lab.

But why am I on the floor?

This couldn't have been a place I have seen before. It had these dim lights and grey walls. There was no blue anywhere. I didn't like this place.

Is this what a laboratory looks like?
If so, then this is the emptiest laboratory I have ever seen in my life.

Wait, I was with Jenna, Kate and
Daniel. But where were they?

I shouted out their names but no one answered. As if I wasn't already annoyed because of Aviva, now I was all alone in this room all of a sudden. Aviva already made us wait for an hour or so in sunlight in temperature of about 40°C and still didn't show up.
Ugh! She's so annoying.

I started taking a look at this almost empty room. I saw a door and tried opening it but the door was locked.
There must be a key to this door somewhere in here.

This definitely can't be the Dr.  Louis lab which I saw in pictures.
That lab was white and this one is just an empty room with four grey walls, a door and a corner table.

I started searching the room for a key but all I found was a paper with a couple of questions on it.
And that's when I remembered that a saw a keypad attached to a safe kept on the corner table.

I had a look at the keypad. The screen on the keypad said "Enter the number".
I typed some radom numbers a few times.
I got error in all and it's this keypad was weird because the passwords on lockers usually have 3- 4 digits but this one doesn't seem to have a limit.

I looked at the paper. There were two questions printed on it.

These questions weren't that hard.
Maybe these questions answer's are somehow the codes for this safe.
This whole thing reminds me of a room escape game, I played couple of months back, where you have to exit different rooms by opening various locks and doors by cracking codes.

With this thought of the game I started solving the very first question.

So I considered three numbers a,b and c.
And a+b+c=98
a/b=2/3
b/c=5/8

Not that b was 3 in the first ratio and 5 in the second ratio, obviously it was a multiple of both 3 and 5. So it had to be a multiple of 15.
​ After a little bit of error and trial, I found out the answer was 30.

I typed 30 in the keypad but I got error.
And that's when I noticed there was a keyhole in this safe also.
Damn! That means there's one more key in this room.

I searched everywhere but I didn't find any key/ locker or anything because this room was practically empty.
After a while I noticed there was a small painting hung on a wall.
I removed the painting and there was a small red button there.
I clicked on it and then a keypad came out of that wall.

There was speaker near the keypad which sort of screamed in a squeaky voice, "Enter the Number".

I typed 30 and the a small part of wall  got opened.
There was a key inside it. I took the key and tried opening the door but it was the wrong key.

I went back to the safe. The key entered the hole but it was still showing error after I typed 30.
So I started solving the nest question.

Given;
U = 0 m/s
V = 444 m/s
T = 1.83 s

To find acceleration;
a = (vf-vi)/t
a = (444 m/s - 0 m/s)/(1.83 s)

a = 243 m/s²

After doing this question once again to verify my answers I typed 243 in the safe and turned the keys.
Finally I opened the safe and there was the key to my escape from this terrible room were kept inside the safe.

I ran straight to the door and turned the keys twice to face something that was way more terrible then staying in the previous room.
