"I know Arpita, but try to understand even if we keep aside this matter, don't you remember how he left you in middle of your wedding for her? Even if Neelima(Ronit's mother) auntie is supporting you but does it matters when Ronit is against this marriage?

Arpita shook her head in denial, it was shocking for her to even think about leaving this matter aside and burying her long hidden love feelings.

Sighing in disbelief Ruby shook her head, getting up from her couch she went up to Arpita who was standing ahead in front of window enjoying cool winds of night.

"Have you lost it Arpita? I was helping you thinking that maybe there will be a chance for you, but can't you see? Are you blind enough to even ignore the fact that the person you love is not reciprocating the same!

Nor he had been reciprocating your feelings ever! Why do you need to be stuck over this worthless obsession? Arpita, you need to give up on him."

Her eyes moved in distress, tears welled up in her eyes, she looked back at Ruby, her only and true friend who knew all along from the start how much of love she had for Ronit.

"I loved him first! I saw him first! I helped him first!"

"But he loved her first not you! Even if you had him in your eyes, he only had her."

Ruby's words pinched her heart, it was hit at right wound as her controlled tears fell from her eyes, she cried hugging Ruby.

It was new year, new start of their journey from junior college to entering degree college.

She was in hurry to enter college gate in fear of getting detention on her first day, it was little crowded as well as many students came to specifically attend first day of their degree college.

'just let me reach to collage gate! No no! Let me pass through college gate on time bhagwan ji! I swear I will wake up earlier from tomorrow! I don't want to be late on my first day!'

Worried in her thoughts she walked faster excusing people beside her, she was about to reach at college gate when unknowingly she bumped into someone.

Her steps stumbled, but luckily that person with steady steps took hold of her hands and made her steady herself.

"Woah missy! There is still time for gate to be closed."

It was quite embarrassing for her to be in such situation, especially with now all people's attention on her.

"I am sorry... I am really sorry... I just.."

"It's okay, chill! By the way, now when we have bumped into each other why don't we exchange our name?

Hello, My name is Ronit, Ronit Roy and what's yours?"

"Hello... I am Arpita Choudhury."

Talking to guy was not prohibited for her, but being schooled in all girl's school it was first time she ever talked with different gender, what's more she looked at someone this attentively.

He had light smile on his face, with shining yet playful eyes he smiled at her but it was not long after he was called back by someone, turning to that person he nodded and looking back he waived a little to her.

Her hand rose up clumsily as she waived him back.

"Arpita, you should have confessed to him before he and Prachi got into relationship! But you were coward from the start! Now even if you want, you will be nothing but a hindrance to him.

Trust me Arpita this is your chance to bury those old toxic feelings and start fresh, your ignorance to those feelings in start led you to get into this toxicity."

Wiping her tears Ruby consoled Arpita, nodding to her Arpita and Ruby sat on couch.

"I know Ruby, but I already ruined our friendship because of this! Prachi... She will never forgive me.

It's all my fault!"

Ruby sighed,

"It's okay, it was your feelings. You can start a fresh. Don't worry. We will talk to her, she will understand this."

Patting her on her back Ruby assured her, Arpita shook her head sideways in denial as a whimper escaped from her lips,

"It was my fault Ruby, if I wouldn't have kept my lips shut that day nothing would've happened to her.

It's all my fault! I was selfish!"

Her hands paused on her(a) back as she looked at Arpita who was whimpering hiding her face in her hands.

Confusion, worry, fear flashed through her eyes as Ruby licked her dry lips in worry, hesitated she asked,

"What do you mean Arpita?"

Arpita failed in an attempt to calm herself as her tearful face stared at worried yet troubled face of Ruby in fear and anxiety.

"Ruby... (She gulped her saliva and continued) that day on Sangeet ceremony I saw him...."

"What...?"

"I saw him clicking her pictures hiding behind wall, I saw it but I was scared too. I wanted to confront him that's why I followed him! But he received a call and I heard him say,

He... He wanted to have her, He wanted to have her Ruby! I thought.. I thought if I kept my mouth shut then he will have her and I can have Ronit to myself! I didn't knew it would be this horrific! I didn't knew her life would be ruined!

I swear I didn't knew! I just thought it could be my chance of getting married to Ronit!

I just wanted to marry him."

"What did you said?"

Male voice from other side of the room grabbed their attention as they looked back at person in pure fear and worry.
