so i just wanna be clear i've never been to a camp so i'm mostly just guessing on how this works but hope y'all like it. <3

joan and i walked through the doors into the mess hall and saw about 13 counselors or more, alice and arnie followed us in.

"hey guys" arnie said as he put his arm around alice.

"hey" i responded with a sigh "we are already late guys let just get this over with." we all had to learn first aid and cpr before we started anything else.

-hour later- (8 am)

"that was pretty easy" alice said after learning how to do cpr.

"i know right-" i got cut off by the owner of the camp.

"now that we are done with first aid i need to assign 2 counselors to a cabin that will work together" the owner grabbed his notebook from of the table where he stood and started calling out names who i didn't know. "craig and john, nick and kurt, gary and liam, tommy and arnie. now for the girls, alice and joan, lucy and rebecca, jackie and madison, and cindy and y/n. you will be sharing a cabin with your partner and 5 kids. there will also be things that need to be done including helping the cook or nurse lane, along with cleaning the outhouses or showers and getting the mess halls ready for meets and dinners. also each cabin will need to take turns supervising the fires at night and we will start with cabin one." he was starting to get boring so i went over to alice.

"who the hell is cindy?" i said sighing.

"a snitch that's what" alice answered rolling her eyes.

"oh u mean the girl that-" she cut me off.

"yea that one" alice turned pointing to a girl. i turned around and saw a brown haired girl with a little red tint in her hair. she was standing next to a tall blonde guy. "and that's her stupid boyfriend tommy" she added. alice has always hated this girl but never liked to talk about it around me. i clearly don't like her if alice doesn't but there was something off about her.

i slowly turned my attention back to the owner "there are things that have to be done but it is all worth it in the end. so thank you for coming to be apart of camp nightwing. i need you all to meet up with you partner and go to a cabin. there are 12 cabins and please choose one and make the bunks with the sheets that are laid out. after that you can unpack your things and get to know your partner. enjoy and thanks again" he said ending his stupid speech.

"good luck with the snitch y/n" alice said walking away with joan.

i started to walk to the girl who was looking around for me.

"hey, cindy right?" i gestured giving her a small wave. she walked closer to me. "i'm y/n it's nice to meet you" she had a strange look on her face.

"hi y/n let go get a cabin" she started walking toward the exit. i caught up to her and we just started walking. the awkward silence was so loud. but she broke it "you're friends with alice right?"

"yea she's one of my closest friends, why?"

she responded with "oh no reason it's just that i used to know her. do you wanna do cabin 7?" she was definitely the type of person to get to the point very fast.

"yea sure" i said rolling my eyes showing that i didnt care. cindy was kinda sweet from the first 3 minutes i've been with her, but i couldn't like her because i'm not a bitch friend and i know alice wouldn't like if i thought cindy was sweet.

we walked into the small cabin and there was 4 bunks. cindy turned and threw me some sheets as i started make the beds. i saw cindy look at me, she scoffed. what the fuck, did this girl really just scoff at me.

"what's your problem berman?" i said in an attitude.

"your making the bed wrong" she responded.

now i'm annoyed, forget what i said about her being sweet. "fine you can make the beds i'm going to find my friends" i said dropping the sheets on the beds. i headed to the door when i felt cindy grab my arm.

"you want me to do this all on my own?" she said staring right into my eyes.

"yea if your gonna judge how i make stupid beds, god if you have a problem with it fix it." i pulled my hand away and walked out the door. i started to look for alice when i bumped into someone.

"oh shit sorry" i blurted. i looked up to stupid cindy bermans boyfriend.

"are you okay? im sorry too" he said with his hand on my shoulder.

i started to walk away "im fine"

"wait! your y/n right? im tommy, tommy slater." he said holding his hand out to shake it. "which cabin are you and cindy in?"

i ignored his hand "yea im y/n she's in cabin 7" i walked away in a faster pace. i found joan outside a cabin smoking some weed in secret.

i ran up to her, "joan it's only 8:45 the campers will be here soon shouldn't we wait till later or at least let me hit it"

she laughed "i'll put it out soon"

i walked inside to see alice and arnie making out "ewww find a different place to make out would u?"

"please y/n your just jealous wanna join?" he said pulling away from alice.

"i would rather die that kiss a male" i said backing up.

"hold on, your into girls?" he asked.

"well no shit" alice laughed "it's obvious, no offense y/n"

"anyway moving on, the berman girl is a bitch she literally judged me by the way i was making beds so i left" i said rolling my eyes.

"god she's such a priss and a suck up" arnie scoffed.

"i'm gonna go walk around for a bit but i'll catch up with you guys later" i said walking out of their cabin.

"see ya" joan said blowing a kiss. i laughed and continued back to my cabin. as i was walking i saw the nurses place, the mess hall, and the outhouses. they all looked pretty clean but i'm sure by the end of the week they will be disgusting. i noticed most of the shadysiders from school, they were okay, but the sunnyvalers were just annoying and could stop showing off all their things for example, kurt. god i hated him but of course he had to be lead counselor, not that i wanted to be but we could've gone with someone so much better.

i opened the door to my cabin to see cindy and tommy making out. she pulled away as soon as she saw me.

"so i see everyone just starts making out when people
leave, that's just perfect" i said going over to my back pack and sitting down on the small chair in the corner.

"whatever y/n" cindy scoffed drinking some water "listen tommy you should go i'll meet up with u at lunch okay?" cindy said in a sweet voice. eww i hate straight couples.

"yea ok" he gave her a kiss on the cheek and left the cabin. i rolled my eyes and looked at the floor.

"listen we are gonna have to get along when we are around kids okay but when we aren't you can have a grudge against me" she walked closer to me.

"okay fine" i got up "which bunk do you want? considering you made all of them so perfect"

"i thought we could just share a bunk together" she replied. i heard the bell start to ring which meant the campers would be arriving in a couple minutes. i threw my bags on the top bunk closest to the door and slipped on my converse.

"let's go loser" i said to cindy as she followed me out the door.
