Song for this chapter: Kiwi by Harry Styles

May 31, 2019"I'm coming Mom! My gosh!" I shouted back at my mom from my bedroom. I was double checking to make sure everything I needed was packed in my one large suitcase, and backpack.
I'm able to fit a very good amount of clothes into this suitcase. Enough for a year, plus I'll be buying myself some clothes throughout the tour either way.
I got a job as a sound tech for a Alternative-Rock band, Violet Viper. I've heard of them, they are very popular. But personally, I've never listened to their music.
Truth is, I really just wanted to get away from my mother. I do really want to travel the world, and if this is the way to do it? Sign me up.
My Mom and I made a deal. I can take a year-long break from school to travel, then I'll go to college to study maybe criminology? But I'm a hundred percent taking a Greek Mythology course.
After zipping up my back pack, I walked out the bedroom to the living room where my mother, and my little brother, Thomas, sat on the couch.
"Took you long enough," she said irritatedly, looking at me from the couch. She was wearing a pencil skirt, heels, and a white dress-top. Her brunette bob was super straight. Her silver cross necklace, shining in the light.
"Sorry Mom, I had to make sure I didn't forget anything," I answered apologetically.
To which she replied with a huff. She and my brother are driving me to the airport. I'm flying from North Carolina to Boston Massachusetts.
"Well let's go," she replied, grabbing her car keys and walking to the front door. Dragging my suitcase, I followed her out the front door closing the door behind me after Thomas walked out.
I walk over to the car, popping the trunk of the silver Honda. It was a bit difficult to get my suitcase to fit, but it eventually did.
I walked over to the passenger side, and sat down. I buckled my seatbelt and looked out the window while my mom played some music. Country music. Where's a bullet when you need one?
After around 15 minutes, we got to the airport. We got out of the car, and removed my suitcase from the trunk with a little help from Thomas. I then grabbed my backpack, and slung it onto my back.
We walked through the airport until I had to separate from them. I stopped in my tracks and turned to face them. I looked over a Thomas, pulling him in a hug.
Thomas, or Tommy as I normally call him, was only six years old. I'm nineteen so there is about a thirteen year age difference. Short after I turned twelve years-old, my dad died in a car wreck. My Mom than found Thomas's dad. They got married after six months of dating because it was "fate". If i'm being honest, I'm glad I'm leaving my step-father. He isn't the best, but that's another thing.
When I hugged Tommy, he wrapped his arms around me, burying his face into my shoulder. I heard him let out a little sniffle and felt bad for leaving him. I feel bad having to leave him with my Mom and Tod.
"Listen Hot-Wheels," calling Tommy the nickname I gave him when he was a baby, he tried swallowing a Hot-Wheels car whole. "You'll be okay, trust me. If you ever need anything, please oh please call me."
